About the role

Second Foundation is a global energy trading company with around 450 employees across locations in Prague HQ (CZ), Zug (CH), Berlin (DE), Charlotte (USA), and Tokyo (JP). We specialize in power market trading and in the integration and optimization of renewable energy and battery storage systems. In parallel, we are actively expanding our own asset base, with a primary focus on battery storage.

We are looking for a Senior M&A Business Analyst to join our Berlin office. You will lead analytical work on M&A opportunities in the energy and battery-storage sectors, shape investment decisions, and support deal execution. In this senior role, you will own key analytical workstreams, coordinate cross-functional input, and help ensure high-quality decision-ready outputs. Your work will help expand and strengthen our portfolio across Europe and other key markets.

What you would work on?

What makes you a great candidate?

* Degree in business, finance or a STEM field.  * Experience in M&A, investment analysis, corporate finance, consulting, financial modelling or business analysis.  * Strong financial-modelling skills, including DCF, IRR, NPV, scenario analysis and investment cases.  * Advanced analytical capability and ability to structure complex problems independently.  * Solid data-handling, analysis and visualisation skills; Python or automation experience is a plus.  * Fluency in German and English is required. * Curious, quick to learn and comfortable applying critical and creative thinking to business problems.

What we offer?

* Competitive salary package with the possibility of a yearly bonus * Flexible working hours and home office options * High-end work equipment, with devices available from Apple, Samsung, or Lenovo * BVG Deutschlandticket Job * Edenred meal vouchers * Urban Sports Club membership * Learning and development opportunities * Team-building activities and company events
