About the role
Job Description
Responsible for maintaining the office building, facilities, and equipment in a safe and operational condition by performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs. The role also coordinates with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine inspections of building facilities and equipment. * Perform minor repairs related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, furniture, and office fixtures. * Diagnose facility issues and determine whether repairs can be completed internally or require external vendors. * Coordinate and supervise external contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and statutory inspections. * Monitor contractor performance and verify work quality and completion. * Respond promptly to facility breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests. * Maintain building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and fire protection equipment. * Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and service documentation. * Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. * Support office renovations, furniture installation, office moves, and workspace modifications.
Qualifications
Education
* Technical diploma or vocational qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, or a related field.
Experience
* 2–5 years of experience in facilities or building maintenance. * Experience in a corporate office, commercial building, or industrial environment is preferred.
Skills
* Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and basic carpentry. * Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor building repairs independently. * Ability to assess maintenance issues and determine when specialist contractors are required. * Experience coordinating external vendors and service providers. * Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems. * Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems).
Other Requirements
* Basic understanding of workplace health and safety regulations. * Willingness to respond to urgent maintenance issues outside normal working hours, when required. * Fluent in Dutch and English.
