Commis Chef
Job Overview We are seeking dedicated Commis chefs to join us at The Hero’s Return. successful candidates will be responsible for helping prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with our restaurant standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about cooking to develop their skills within a professional environment. Commis chefs will be responsible for cold preparations, overseen by a CDP or Sous chef, as well as ensuring all food safety regulations are adhered to and delivering exceptional food at a consistent standard. Responsibilities * Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to established recipes and standards * Oversee specific sections of the kitchen, such as grill, pastry, or sauté stations * Assist in the organisation and management of kitchen supplies and ingredients * Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations to comply with food safety regulations * Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods * Monitor food quality and presentation before serving to guests * Support junior kitchen staff with training and guidance as required * Ensure adherence to health and safety standards at all times
Skills * Basic knowledge of inner workings of a professional kitchen * Keen interest in learning on the job * Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices * Organisational skills with the ability to work to a deadline * Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with your colleagues * Previous restaurant experience not required, good for people looking for apprenticeship
