Responsibilities:
* Perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the Phytogen Seed Company research program. * The tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker. * In addition, the Technician's Assistant will perform additional tasks as required by the supervising Field Technician. * These tasks may include, under close supervision of the Field Supervisor: assisting with the repair and maintenance of field equipment, limited operation of field equipment, organization of samples during harvest and/or processing, and limited driving of a company vehicle. * The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the annual research program and will be seasonal in nature. * Tasks may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting. * Responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program. * Tasks may include: Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest. * Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, ginning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging. * General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise. * Perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician. * Operation of mobile field equipment, such as a tractor or cotton picker, and stationary field equipment, such as a module builder.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy or Natural Science or related field. * Standardize qualitative data (e.g., scales, categories) * Leadership and Organizational Skills * The contingent worker will be responsible of the process to expedite the needed driver license when asked. (This is a requirement for employment) * 1st & 2nd shift. * Availability to work all shifts, weekends and Holidays.
