About the role

At Morgan & Morgan, the work we do matters. For millions of Americans, we’re their last line of defense against insurance companies, large corporations or defective goods. From attorneys in all 50 states, to client support staff, creative marketing to operations teams, every member of our firm has a key role to play in the winning fight for consumer rights. Our over 6,000 employees are all united by one mission: For the People.

Opportunity Overview We are seeking a Pre-Suit Attorney to join our Product Liability and Fire group. This critical role  sits at the frontlines of client engagement, case selection, and litigation readiness. You will be  responsible for effectively vetting, fully developing, and strategically positioning cases for  litigation. You will evaluate potential claims, oversee pre-suit investigation and medical review,  guide causation and liability analysis, and ensure cases are strategically positioned before filing. This role is crucial for maximizing case value, minimizing downstream inefficiencies, and  informing decisions regarding matter retention and referral.

Responsibilities

• Case Evaluation & Screening. Evaluate Product Liability and Fire intakes and matters  to assess product exposure, injury severity, causation viability, SOL, and jurisdictional  considerations. Make retain, refer, or decline recommendations consistent with firm and  litigation-specific criteria. • Causation & Liability Analysis. Oversee pre-suit investigation activity, directing activity  to gather facts and information to inform claim viability, analyzing general and specific  causation issues, and identifying evidentiary gaps and weaknesses in a potential claim. • Client Engagement. Serve as the primary attorney point of contact for clients during the  pre-suit phase. Serve as a trusted partner for clients to clarify facts, manage  expectations, and ensure a high-quality client experience. • Litigation Readiness & Handoff. Prepare cases for transition to litigation by identifying  strengths and vulnerabilities, outlining key witnesses, and partnering with litigation  counsel to ensure continuity of strategy and factual understanding. • Process Discipline & Continuous Improvement. Maintain accurate case  documentation and data integrity in firm systems.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S.  jurisdiction • 1+ years of legal experience, with plaintiff-side litigation experience preferred • Ability to exercise sound legal judgment across a high-volume docket • Understanding of product-liability theories and causation analysis preferred, but not  required • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with attorneys, investigators, and case staff • Strong written and verbal communication skill
