Location: Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital
Status: Contingent | Days
Schedule: 8-12 hour shifts
Setting: 100% Inpatient | 100% Adult Patients
Call/Weekends: No call requirements | 1 weekend per month
Position Overview:
Henry Ford Health West Bloomfield Hospital is seeking a contingent Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Urology/Gynecology team. This role focuses on providing inpatient coverage for urology and gynecology services, serving as a first-line provider responsible for patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and care coordination. Responsibilities include daily rounding, patient discharges, inpatient and ER consultations, and bedside procedures consistent with training, experience, and credentialing. The position offers 8–12 hour shifts with one weekend per month, providing the opportunity to work closely with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team in a collaborative inpatient environment.

Qualifications
* 2 years of surgical experience as an APP preferred * NP or PA graduate from an accredited program * Current (or in-process) Michigan licensure * National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA) * BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)
Credentials:
Education & Training
* Physician Assistant (PA): Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) * Nurse Practitioner (NP): Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
Licensure
* Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required).
Certification
* PA: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) * NP: National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (ANCC, AANP)
Required Certifications
* Basic Life Support (BLS) – required * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required (may be obtained after hire)
DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure
* PA: DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing * NP: DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
