Weekly Pay: $2,201.08 per week

Job Summary

Are you an experienced Medical-Surgical RN looking for your next travel assignment? We are seeking a compassionate, flexible, and skilled Travel Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team in Cozad, NE for a Day Shift contract.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality inpatient nursing care to adult patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, possess strong clinical assessment skills, and prioritize patient safety, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

* Clinical Assessment & Care: Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, monitor vital signs and lab results, and evaluate patient response to treatment plans.

* Medication & IV Therapy: Safely administer medications, injections, and therapies per physician orders; manage peripheral IV lines.

* Procedures & Wound Care: Perform essential clinical procedures, including complex dressing changes, wound care, and specimen collection.

* EHR Documentation: Maintain accurate, real-time documentation of patient status, interventions, and care plans within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

* Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, therapists, case managers, and nursing staff to coordinate multi-faceted care and drive safe, timely discharge planning.

* Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and their families regarding medical conditions, ongoing treatments, and post-discharge self-care instructions.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

* Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.

Licensure & Certifications:

* RN License: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska or a valid Compact/Multi-State RN license.

* BLS: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

* ACLS / PALS: Preferred (may be required depending on unit needs).

Experience & Skills:

* Clinical Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of acute care Med Surg or mixed medical-surgical experience preferred.

* Core Skills: Strong critical thinking, rapid clinical problem-solving, and time management skills to balance multiple priority patients.

* Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

* Workstyle: Adaptable, dependable, and comfortable stepping into new facility workflows quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

* Experience with telemetry monitoring or post-operative surgical patient care.

* Previous travel nursing contract experience.

* Inpatient general medical-surgical unit with variable acuity.
