Job Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Commis 1 - Bakery to join our culinary team in Kochi, India. In this entry-level kitchen position, you will work alongside experienced bakers to support the daily production of high-quality baked goods. * Prepare baking ingredients by measuring, mixing, and organizing components according to established recipes and procedures * Assist in the production of various baked goods including breads, pastries, cakes, and other bakery items * Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards * Follow recipes precisely and execute baking techniques under the guidance of senior bakers * Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure products meet quality specifications * Assist with portioning, packaging, and labeling finished baked goods * Support inventory management by tracking ingredient usage and reporting stock levels * Collaborate effectively with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines * Perform general kitchen duties including cleaning equipment, sanitizing surfaces, and maintaining workspace organization * Respond to feedback from supervisors and continuously improve baking techniques and efficiency
Qualifications
* Basic knowledge of baking techniques and fundamental baking principles * Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards * Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality * Excellent organizational and time management skills * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment * Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks * Strong teamwork and communication abilities * Ability to follow instructions precisely and work collaboratively with senior staff * Preferred: Previous experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food service environment * Preferred: Knowledge of different baking methods and equipment operation * Preferred: Food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification * Preferred: Customer service awareness and professional demeanor
