About the role

Position Summary:

The Relief Receptionist is a casual on-call position for the Wasauksing Administration Department. The position provides office services by implementing administrative systems, procedures, and policies, and monitoring administrative projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Supports administrative staff by fulfilling administrative duties, as assigned. * Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; updating equipment inventories * Provides information by answering questions and requests to the public and staff by phone, email and other communications, including answering and redirecting calls. * Refilling supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; updating orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. * Entering and maintaining data as required. * Keeping and maintaining the reception area, supply / print room, and boardroom clean and organized. * Support in booking boardrooms and meeting rooms as required. * Update bulletin boards and the public calendar as required. * Maintain professional manners through communication channels. * Maintain, update and communicate regarding packages and mail in receiving area, while maintaining a clean and safe space. * Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

* Minimum Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12); * Experience in a business or government setting or relevant receptionist role is an asset;  * Ability to speak, read and understand Anishnaabemowin (Ojibway Language) is an asset; * General knowledge of community services and of Wasauksing is considered an asset; * Clear communication skills and a friendly and approachable demeanor; * Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google, email correspondence, and office equipment is considered an asset; * Ability to multitask, track details, take notes or messages, and remain calm while dealing with the public and busy periods of work; * Customer service excellence is considered an asset;

Other Requirements:   •    Wasauksing First Nation requires the individual to provide a clear Criminal Record Check.
