Position Overview
The Technical Interior Designer will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed technical drawings that support our design projects from concept through installation.
We are looking for someone who brings more than basic drafting skills. The ideal candidate understands how interior spaces are constructed, can translate design concepts into accurate technical documentation, and is comfortable working on complex custom residential projects.
This is a hands-on position requiring strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple drawing packages and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, furniture layouts, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, and construction details. * Develop comprehensive technical drawing packages for high-end residential interior design projects. * Create detailed drawings for custom cabinetry, millwork, built-ins, and other specialty architectural elements. * Translate design concepts, sketches, and specifications into accurate construction-ready drawings. * Review architectural plans and coordinate technical details with the design team, architects, contractors, and vendors. * Maintain drawing accuracy and consistency throughout project revisions. * Identify potential design conflicts, dimensional discrepancies, and constructibility concerns before drawings are issued. * Assist with specification documentation and technical information required for purchasing, fabrication, and installation. * Manage multiple projects and drawing deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
* 3-5 years of professional experience in technical interior design, architectural drafting, or a closely related field. * Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is required. * Demonstrated experience producing detailed construction drawings for residential interior design projects. * Strong knowledge of custom cabinetry, millwork, architectural detailing, and interior construction methods. * Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural and construction drawings. * Strong understanding of dimensions, materials, clearances, and construction requirements. * Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve technical inconsistencies. * Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced design environment. * Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with luxury residential interior design firms. * Experience coordinating with architects, builders, fabricators, and custom millwork vendors. * Familiarity with SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D modeling software. * Experience developing custom furniture and specialty fabrication drawings.

This is not an entry-level drafting position. We need someone with the technical experience and judgment to contribute immediately and become a dependable resource for our design team.
