About the role

Relief Veterinarian | Skeet Club Veterinary Hospital

* Compensation: $110–$130/hour, depending on experience * Location: 1578 Skeet Club Road, High Point, NC 27265 * Coverage needed: Monday, Thursday, and Friday are our highest-priority days. Tuesday and Wednesday shifts are also available. * No long-term commitment or contract required

Skeet Club Veterinary Hospital is seeking relief veterinarians to support our small animal team in High Point. We welcome doctors who enjoy general practice, communicate well with clients and staff, and stay calm when a same-day case needs attention.

The Relief Role

You will see dogs and cats for preventive care, sick visits, and selected urgent cases. Appointments are generally 30 minutes. Ear and skin concerns are a significant part of our caseload, and work-ins may include gastrointestinal illness, limping, wounds, and abscesses.

We can discuss routine surgical coverage based on your experience and the needs of a particular shift. Advanced procedures are handled by a visiting specialist or referred when appropriate.

Our approximate support staff to doctor ratio is 2:1. Skeet Club has digital radiography and dental radiography, ultrasound, an in-house IDEXX laboratory, and an endoscope. You will work with an experienced team that values clear communication, sound medical judgment, and respectful collaboration.

Scheduling

Appointments begin at 8:30 a.m. each day.

* Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: Last appointment at 4:30 p.m.; doctors generally finish by 5:30 p.m. * Wednesday: Last appointment at 1:30 p.m.; doctors generally finish by 2:00 p.m. * Full-day shifts: A one-hour unpaid lunch from noon to 1:00 p.m., with the option of arranging a two-hour break, if requested.

There is no on-call duty or overnight hospitalization.

About Skeet Club

Requirements

* DVM or VMD degree * Valid North Carolina veterinary license * Ability to manage small animal appointments independently * Strong client communication and a collaborative approach with the hospital team

Please Note

* This is a 1099 independent contractor role. * Benefits are not included.
