About Youth Opportunity & Osceola Youth Center
Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at‑risk youth. Osceola Youth Center in Evart, Michigan is a trauma‑informed Youth Center serving boys ages 10 to 17 requiring behavioral stabilization. The program merges clinical therapy, education, life skills training, and expressive recreation to support emotional growth in a structured setting.
Youth typically remain in care for 6 to 9 months, engaging in individual, family, and group therapy; restorative justice; victim‑impact awareness; and pre‑vocational preparation. Programming in small group units encourages family partnership and successful return to the community.

About the Role
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide compassionate, high-quality medical care to youth in a residential treatment environment. You will collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure each youth receives individualized, holistic care that promotes both physical and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer prescribed medications and ensure accurate documentation
* Triage illness and injuries each shift, determine medical priority, and treat within scope of practice
* Monitor and document vital signs, medical progress, and health outcomes
* Conduct required health screenings and maintain immunization compliance
* Educate youth and staff on health topics, including universal precautions and communicable disease prevention
* Provide or coordinate CPR, first aid, and other medical training for staff as required
* Maintain controlled drug records and complete shift-to-shift medication counts
* Monitor and replenish health/first aid supplies, including AED and emergency kits
* Participate in treatment team meetings to support interdisciplinary care planning
* Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and state healthcare regulations
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
* Active and unrestricted RN license
* At least 2 years of professional nursing experience
* CPR certification
* Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Preferred:
* Experience working with youth in residential, behavioral health, or correctional settings
Physical Demands
* Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable
* Able to actively engage with youth, participate in physical interventions, and transport youth or staff as needed
* Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state
* Must pass evaluation of physical techniques and certification exams
Other Requirements
* Valid state driver’s license
* Must meet state criminal background check requirements
* Flexibility to work variable hours as needed
