About the role
Armstrong Fluid Technology is a global leader in fluid-flow technology, supported by a strong manufacturing footprint and a commitment to innovation, quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
The Production & Maintenance Electrical Engineer will support electrical production activities, panel testing, pump test-bed readiness, and maintenance of electrical equipment used in manufacturing and testing. This role is suitable for a diploma holder with strong hands-on shop-floor experience, practical troubleshooting ability, and a safety-first approach.
Key Accountabilities
Production Electrical Support
* Support daily production activities related to electrical panels, pump control systems, VFD assemblies, AHF panels, MCC panels, IPS/IPC panels, and associated wiring work. * Carry out inspection of wiring, components, protection devices, earthing, cable termination, ferruling, and control logic as per approved drawings and BOM. * Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance (IR) tests, functional checks, interlock verification, and safety checks before panel release. * Upload, verify, and support basic controller/VFD parameter settings as per approved test procedure and project requirements. * Coordinate with production, quality, engineering, PEG, and testing teams for issue resolution and production priority closure. * Support pump performance testing activities by ensuring electrical systems, motor connections, VFD settings, and instruments are ready before testing. * Monitor and record electrical parameters such as voltage, current, power consumption, frequency, motor speed, and VFD status during testing. * Assist in customer or third-party witness testing by ensuring electrical readiness, safe operation, and proper documentation support.
Documentation, Safety & Continuous Improvement
* Maintain test records, maintenance logs, inspection checklists, breakdown reports, and corrective action records. * Follow electrical safety procedures, lockout-tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work requirements, and standard operating procedures. * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to panel testing, maintenance reliability, testing efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
Tools & Equipment
* IPS/IPC panels, VFD assembly panels, AHF panels, MCC panels, pump control panels, motor starters, and shop-floor electrical panels. * Multimeters, megger, clamp meters, power analysers, 4-20 mA injector kit, electrical tool kit, and basic calibration/test accessories. * Pump test beds, motor connections, VFDs, control circuits, instrumentation wiring, cranes, hoists, and electrical maintenance tools. * Electrical drawings, panel drawings, BOM, test procedures, maintenance checklists, ERP/shop-floor documentation systems.
Education & Experience
* Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification. * 2-5 years of relevant experience in production electrical support, electrical maintenance, panel testing, pump testing, or manufacturing industry. * Hands-on experience with electrical panels, motors, VFDs, control circuits, electrical troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. * Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, BOM, and technical specifications.
Skills & Competencies
* Strong practical knowledge of electrical systems, motors, VFDs, control panels, protection devices, and shop-floor electrical safety. * Good troubleshooting approach with ability to identify root cause and support corrective actions. * High attention to detail in wiring verification, testing, documentation, and maintenance records. * Ability to work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams. * Strong commitment to safety, quality, uptime, and production support.
