About the role

Head of School – Enko Maputo

Location: Maputo, Mozambique

Type: Full-time

Reporting to: Director Schools' Performance

Enko Maputo is a vibrant, multicultural school in Mozambique offering high-quality international curriculum pathways (including IB programmes and Cambridge/CAIE pathways). We prepare our students to gain admission to the world’s most prestigious universities while remaining deeply grounded in African values and community spirit.

As the Head of School at Enko Maputo, you will be the primary instructional leader and cultural champion of the campus. You will lead the pedagogical vision, inspire teachers, ensure student retention, and foster an environment of high academic standards.

Your core mission as Head of School will focus directly on instructional leadership, academic excellence, continuous pedagogical development, and compliance with accreditation standards (IB, CAIE, and local Mozambican regulations). To allow you to concentrate fully on learning and teaching (L&T) quality and student outcomes, dedicated School Partners (in Marketing, Finance, and HR) manage the operational and business aspects of the campus alongside local support leads. Throughout your journey, you will report to your Director Schools' Performance, leverage the technical guidance of L&T Central Experts, and thrive within a collaborative pan-African network of Enko Heads of School.

Key Responsibilities

* Educational & Academic Leadership (L&T): * Drive academic excellence, implementation of Enko L&T standards, and student achievement across all age groups. * Lead international accreditation and re-accreditation processes (IB, Cambridge/CAIE, national Mozambican regulations). * Track and analyze educational performance data to continuously improve learning outcomes.

* Team Development & Culture: * Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain high-quality national and international teaching staff. * Foster an inclusive, motivating, and collaborative professional learning community on campus. * Champion Enko’s core values and the IB learner profile across the school community.

* Community & Parent Engagement: * Maintain exceptionally high levels of parent and student satisfaction through clear communication and continuous engagement. * Build a strong school spirit deeply rooted in Mozambican culture and international open-mindedness.

* Strategic Collaboration & Network Integration: * Collaborate closely with Finance, HR, and Marketing School Partners to ensure alignment between business priorities and academic quality. * Participate in network-wide initiatives to refine the Enko model and accelerate the transformation of the school into an African International School of Choice (A.I.S.o.C.).

The Ideal Profile

We are looking for a passionate educational leader who combines academic rigor with a collaborative mindset.

* Educational Leadership & Credentials: * Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field. * Proven experience as a Head of School, Deputy Head, or Instructional Leader, preferably within IB (International Baccalaureate) or Cambridge (CAIE) schools. * Deep understanding of international curricula and Mozambican/regional educational landscapes.

* Mindset & Values: * Passionate about expanding high-quality, affordable international education across Africa. * Embodies the IB learner profile attributes (open-minded, reflective, caring, principled). * Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and resilient, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

* Skills & Competencies: * Strong collaborative capability to partner effectively with functional experts (HR, Finance, Marketing) and central teams. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Portuguese * Data-informed approach to measuring and enhancing learning outcomes.
