Role Overview

As a Nurse Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our patients. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide essential patient care, assist in care planning, and respond to emergent situations. Your contributions are critical to maintaining the high standards of care that define Henry Ford Health.

What You Will Do

* Provide specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs under RN supervision. * Assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. * Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures. * Participate in continuing education to enhance your skills and knowledge. * Uphold the Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. * Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (e.g., Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician) OR currently enrolled in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing OR foreign trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license OR Medical Assistant program with or without experience OR at least one year of previous experience in a similar role. * Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

* CNA certification preferred.

Additional Information

Schedule: 7pm – 7:30am / 36 hours per week, every other weekend and holiday

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

* Physical ability to lift and move patients, supplies and equipment.

* Works in patient care environments, which may include exposure to communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, acute patient conditions, potential exposure to infection, hazardous gases.

* Prolonged standing, walking, and lifting of patients, supplies and equipment
