Job Description
Role overview The Head of Treasury safeguards the group's liquidity, making sure it always has the cash it needs to meet its financial commitments. The role manages financial risk and the relationships with banks and lenders. It also builds a group-wide treasury function, ensuring locally generated cash is centrally controlled.
Key responsibilies
Build & run the group treasury function
* Design and build the group treasury function across the merged organisations — policies, processes, controls, and systems (TMS); * Supervise, coordinate and control decentralised local treasury operations, close to where cash is generated.
Liquidity & cash management
* Own group cash management, pooling and the rolling liquidity forecast; secure day-to-day liquidity and optimise cash and credit lines group-wide; * Manage the circulation of cash across the group — centralisation and upstreaming, intercompany loans and funding, and dividend payments.
Financing & covenants
* Manage the group's financing under the Senior Facility Agreement (SFA) — drawdowns, repayments, headroom and refinancing; * Own covenant compliance management and headroom forecasting (leverage), drawing on the covenant calculations produced by Group Controlling; handle any waiver or amendment; * Manage day-to-day lender relations and credit-facility administration, in support of the CFO. * Banking relationships, mandates & guarantees * Own banking relationships, bank lines and bank mandates (account signatories and powers of attorney), and their maintenance across the group; * Manage the bank-guarantee programme critical to the business — bid bonds, advance-payment and performance bonds, retention money guarantees and SBLCs.
Financial risk management
* Assess and hedge FX exposure (principally EUR/USD) and interest-rate risk within an agreed policy; * Own payment security and fraud prevention across the group. *
First 12 months — what success looks like
* Group treasury function set up — charter, policies, roles and controls; * Cash centralisation and regional cash-pooling live, with a rolling liquidity forecast across regions; * Bank accounts and mandates mapped and rationalised (signatory / POA framework in place); * FX policy defined and core EUR/USD exposures hedged; covenant compliance secured and TMS selected.
Qualifications
Required
- 15+ years in corporate treasury, including a treasury leadership role in an international group; fluent English; - Command of financing and covenant, liquidity and cash management and bank guarantees (bonds, SBLCs); - FX and interest-rate risk management; established banking and lender relationships; - Private-equity & LBO-backed environment — fluent in lender and sponsor expectations and covenant discipline.
Preferred - Post-merger integration; treasury management system (TMS) implementation; - Building or restructuring a treasury function in a multicurrency environment; - Industrial, engineering-services or project-based sector; aerospace & defence an advantage.
Core competencies Technical & delivery: mastery of liquidity, financing, covenants and financial-risk management; rigour, control and payment security. Relational & intercultural: builds trust with banks, lenders and the sponsor; influences across legacy organisations and cultures (North America, Europe, Asia); clear, credible communication
