What You'll Do
* Build systems to schedule and coordinate experiments across distributed labs.
* Develop reliable infrastructure that connects AI agents with experiments and laboratory instruments.
* Design data systems that capture state, actions, measurements, failures, and provenance.
* Architect distributed systems that coordinate software, devices, and experiments.
* Create developer tools and APIs for new workflows and integrations.
* Debug and optimize across software, hardware, and physical systems.
What We're Looking For
* Typically 3 to 8 years of experience, including at least 3 years building production-grade software systems end to end.
* Strong proficiency in Python or Rust, with experience in Rust or TypeScript relevant to the role.
* Demonstrated experience designing distributed systems, including APIs, networking, and asynchronous communication.
* Experience as an engineer at an early-stage startup and comfort taking ownership in ambiguous environments.
* Experience with ML infrastructure or production ML systems is valuable.
* Experience with robotics, physical AI, agents, lab automation, embedded systems, developer tooling, or data infrastructure is a plus.
