About the role

Job Description

What You'll Actually Do

* Lead hands-on group activities that support learning, confidence, and independence * Teach and reinforce practical life skills, social skills, communication, and choice-making * Support community outings, volunteer activities, and recreational experiences * Encourage and coach individuals as they work toward personal goals * Provide personal care, including restroom, hygiene, eating, and mobility support * Provide behavioral support and use trained de-escalation techniques when needed * Follow individualized service and behavior support plans * Drive company vehicles for outings and community activities * Complete accurate electronic documentation related to goals, progress, and daily activities * Prepare, clean, and reset program areas and work closely with your team to maintain a safe and supportive environment

Your Experience Matters

We're looking for candidates who already have some hands-on experience supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.  Relevant experience may include work as a DSP, Behavior Technician/RBT, paraprofessional, respite provider, job coach, community support professional, or similar human services role.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

* At least 6 months of experience supporting adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities * Must be 18 years or older * High school diploma or GED * Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company van * Experience with direct support, personal care, behavioral support, or skill development * Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic documentation systems * Strong communication skills * Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs. * Ability to work as part of a team in an active, changing environment

Experience in an adult day program, group home, behavioral program, or community-based setting is a plus.
