About the role

Job Description

* Coordinate services related to finances, activities, healthcare, nutrition, household management, and educational/vocational programs.  * Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate program coverage.  * Assist the supervisor in maintaining consistency in programming, individual supports, and team communication.  * Provide guidance, coaching, and support to staff and support team members.  * Perform direct support duties during assigned shifts, including personal cares, meal preparation, transportation, and other activities of daily living.  * Promote person-centered supports that foster independence, choice, dignity, and positive outcomes.  * Assist with household management and help maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained home environment, including general housekeeping and upkeep tasks.  * Communicate program, household, medical, behavioral, and staffing needs to supervisors.

Qualifications

Required (Must-Have)

* High school diploma or GED.  * Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.  * Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or one year of lead staff experience, or a two-year degree in a related field.  * Must be at least 18 years of age.  * Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and provide direct support for extended periods.  * Ability to safely transfer, reposition, and assist individuals in accordance with established safety guidelines.  * Ability to lift, move, push, pull, and/or assist with lifting up to 50 pounds.

Skills & Abilities

* Prior experience in residential services preferred.  * Strong organizational, decision-making, communication, and time management skills.  * Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills to document services, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members.  * Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and professionalism.  * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively as part of a team.  * Ability to support individuals using a person-centered approach that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.
