About the role

Job Title: Midstream Operator Compensation: $75.05–$81.23/hr (W2) Location: Artesia, NM 88210 Supports New Mexico and West Texas areas, including Carlsbad, Pecos, and Wink Schedule: 8 on / 6 off, Tuesday–Tuesday; 10-hour days. Day or night shift depending on need. Day shift: 6 a.m.–4 p.m. Night shift: 4 p.m.–6 a.m. Target Start Date: November 2, 2026 End Date: April 30, 2027 Vehicle Allowance: $50/day, No Agency vehicle supplied.

Scope As a contract Midstream Operator, you will take a leadership role in midstream operations, working under limited supervision to ensure optimal performance and reliability. You will lead the operation of compressor stations, oversee equipment performance, and coordinate minor maintenance and repairs. Your responsibilities include analyzing SCADA data and field observations to drive equipment run time, training and mentoring less experienced operators, facilitating peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, maintaining detailed operational records, and ensuring compliance with all safety standards. Responsibilities / Duties * Leads complex compressor station operations and maintenance activities under limited supervision. * Oversees operation and troubleshooting of compressor stations, including advanced maintenance and optimization of compressors, pumps, and auxiliary systems. * Utilizes predictive maintenance tools to proactively reduce unscheduled downtime. * Ensures accurate GIS mapping and leads periodic visual inspections of compressor stations. * Drives compliance with regulatory and DOT standards, coordinating emergency response efforts. * Leads real-time surveillance and operational checks of compressor station systems, ensuring thorough documentation of activities. * Manages corrective tasks, oversees vendor performance, and represents the company in material deliveries. * Collaborates with chemical techs and engineering teams for equipment protection and upgrades. * Trains and mentors lower-level employees, facilitating peer-to-peer knowledge sharing. * Serves as a field-wide contact for compressor station operations and maintenance, especially during emergencies. * Maintains a strong safety culture, participates in the SAFE program, and upholds the authority to stop work in unsafe conditions.
