Job Description
Under the general direction of the Manager, responsible for the development, implementation, governance, monitoring, and continual improvement of the ISO's Information Governance Program. Serves as the subject matter expert responsible for information lifecycle management, retention governance, legal hold support, defensible disposition, and enterprise information inventory management. Partners across Compliance, Legal, Information Technology, Information Security, Communications, and directly supports business units to ensure information governance requirements are incorporated into enterprise processes, repositories, and technology initiatives. Provides strategic leadership, stakeholder coordination, governance oversight, reporting, and continuous improvement recommendations to support the evolving information governance needs of the ISO. Leads information governance program modernization efforts and serves as the primary liaison for business initiatives requiring cross-functional coordination and enterprise engagement from an Information Governance perspective.
What You Will Be Doing:
Information Governance Program Leadership - Responsible for administering and providing leadership and oversight for the ISO’s Information Governance Program. Serves as the primary subject matter expert for information lifecycle management, records retention, legal holds, defensible disposition, and related governance practices. Establishes program priorities and strategic roadmaps in partnership with business, Legal, Technology, and other key stakeholders to address evolving organizational and technology needs. Develops and maintains program performance measures, management reporting, and dashboards to evaluate program effectiveness, monitor risks and issues, assess resource needs, and support strategic decision-making. Identifies improvement opportunities and escalates significant risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints as appropriate. Provides guidance, training, and consultation to Records Coordinators, management, and business stakeholders. Coordinates the activities of the Information Governance Committee and Oversight Committee to promote effective governance, accountability, and compliance.
Records Retention, Information Inventory, and Disposition - Oversees governance activities for the ISO’s records retention schedule, enterprise information inventory, disposition program, and related information lifecycle requirements. Owns and maintains the enterprise information inventory and records retention schedule in partnership with Legal and Records Coordinators. Manages records subject to legal hold with Legal and Records Coordinators to ensure appropriate preservation. Collaborates with business and Technology stakeholders to establish and implement requirements for retention, preservation, recovery, disposition, information ownership, lifecycle management, and related governance responsibilities. Administers, tracks, and coordinates physical records stored offsite and identifies opportunities for cost reduction. Partners with business stakeholders, Legal, and Technology on records clean-up and disposition efforts.
Information Governance Technology and Enterprise Integration - Serves as the business lead and subject matter expert for information governance requirements, providing oversight and guidance for technologies supporting retention automation, information lifecycle management initiatives, and related information management practices. Partners with system owners across the organization, Information Technology and business stakeholders to incorporate information governance requirements into enterprise technology implementations, upgrades, cloud platforms, business applications, information management systems and operational processes. Defines business requirements, makes decisions related to information governance and related technology, and supports validation and monitoring of information lifecycle management and automation capabilities. Represents the Information Governance Program in cross-functional initiatives, including data governance, enterprise information inventory activities, records retention schedule governance, website content governance, and broader enterprise information management efforts. Evaluates emerging technologies and information management capabilities and recommends and implements improvements to strengthen governance, lifecycle management, reporting, automation, and operational efficiency. Monitors the effectiveness of information governance processes and automation capabilities and implements corrective actions when issues or gaps are identified.
Program Infrastructure, Readiness, and Operational Support - Leads and supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of information governance tools and program infrastructure. Reviews, maintains and distributes Information Governance Program procedures, standards, guidance materials, training content, and supporting documentation. Supports audits, assessments, regulatory inquiries, and information governance readiness activities. Supports business continuity, disaster recovery, incident response, and operational resilience activities related to information management. Serves as the Records Coordinator for Corporate Compliance and supports records repositories and team sites for the Corporate Compliance and Information Governance Programs.
Qualifications
Level of Education and Discipline:
A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent education, training or experience in Information Governance, Information Management, Records Management, Library and Information Science, Business, Legal Studies, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Amount of Experience:
Ten (10) or more years related experience, including five (5) years at lead level or equivalent.
Certifications:
Information Governance Professional (IGP), Certified Records Manager (CRM), Certified Information Professional (CIP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent Information Governance, Records Management, Information Management, or Program Management certification preferred.
Type of Experience:
Significant experience in information governance, records management, retention governance, legal hold support, information lifecycle management, repository governance, and enterprise information management practices. Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide programs and initiatives, including developing governance structures, driving continuous improvement efforts, establishing program priorities, and coordinating cross-functional activities across business, legal, compliance, communications, and technology organizations. Experience developing program metrics, dashboards, executive reporting, training materials, and management communications. Experience partnering with Information Technology and business stakeholders to incorporate information governance requirements into enterprise systems, repositories, cloud technologies, collaboration platforms, and operational processes. Experience leading stakeholder engagement efforts, governance committees, training initiatives, and change management activities. Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Purview, enterprise content management platforms, information repositories, automation technologies, and related governance capabilities is highly desirable.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Purview, and related information management technologies and possess knowledge of information governance, information lifecycle management, records retention and disposition practices, information inventory management, and enterprise information management concepts.
Additional Information
The pay range for the Information Governance Manager position is $134,925 - $188,895 annually.
