About Trident

At Trident, we make IT a source of strength — helping organisations thrive so they can better support the people who rely on them every day.

We’ve built a different kind of partnership — one that puts people first. We work side by side with our clients to make sure their technology is reliable, built for purpose, and designed to support modern ways of working. When that happens, people achieve more, teams feel supported, and organisations become stronger.

Our purpose is simple: to create strength through partnership.

Our vision is to set the standard for people-focused IT partnerships.

And our mission is to collaborate side by side every day, combining reliable IT, practical guidance, and people-first support to make technology a trusted and empowering part of everyday working life.

Everything we do is shaped by our values:

Value – We create lasting value by helping others achieve more for the people they serve.

Integrity – We do the right thing — always, openly, and consistently.

Partnership – We build true partnerships that make people and organisations stronger.

Together, these principles are what make us Trident. They remind us that our greatest strength comes from working as one team — with our colleagues, our partners, and our clients — to make a real difference.

About the Role

This is a project delivery and technical consultancy role with a strong focus on SharePoint Online and the wider Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Working alongside experienced consultants, you will help configure, migrate and improve SharePoint environments that make information easier to find, manage and share securely.

Alongside SharePoint-led projects, you will gain exposure to broader Microsoft 365, Azure and infrastructure engagements. The role suits someone with a good technical foundation who is ready to develop practical consultancy skills, contribute to projects from discovery through to handover, and build confidence working directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities

SharePoint Consultancy & Solution Design

* Support discovery workshops by gathering and documenting business processes, information-management needs, permissions and user requirements. * Assist with the design of SharePoint Online information architectures, including sites, navigation, content types, metadata, libraries and lists. * Create modern, accessible SharePoint sites, pages and templates that deliver a consistent user experience. * Contribute to client recommendations on governance, site ownership, retention, lifecycle management and adoption, with guidance from senior colleagues. * Explain SharePoint and Microsoft 365 concepts clearly to technical and non-technical users, escalating complex design decisions when required.

Migration & Implementation

* Support migrations from file servers, legacy SharePoint environments and other document-management platforms into SharePoint Online and OneDrive. * Assess and remediate source data, permissions, file paths, unsupported content and duplication before migration. * Use migration tools such as SharePoint Migration Tool, Migration Manager or ShareGate, following agreed project plans and guidance. * Configure permissions using Microsoft 365 groups and Entra ID security groups, following approved access designs and least-privilege principles. * Complete testing, validation, cutover, documentation and post-migration support.

Project Delivery & Client Enablement

* Take ownership of clearly defined project tasks and smaller SharePoint workstreams, with support from senior consultants. * Contribute to solution designs and migration plans, and produce accurate test scripts, technical documentation and user guides. * Help deliver administrator and end-user training to support adoption and sustainable ownership. * Assist with SharePoint health checks, permissions reviews and governance assessments. * Assist with Microsoft 365 project issues and escalations, seeking support appropriately and sharing learning across the Professional Services team.

Key Experience & Skills

You may currently be working as a SharePoint Consultant, Microsoft 365 Administrator, Project Engineer, 3rd Line Engineer or developing Technical Consultant within an MSP, IT services or consultancy environment. You should have hands-on Microsoft 365 experience, a genuine interest in SharePoint and the confidence to contribute to client conversations while continuing to learn from more experienced colleagues.

Technical Skills

We do not expect candidates to be experts in every area. Practical SharePoint Online experience, together with knowledge across several of the following areas, would be beneficial:

SharePoint Online

* Modern SharePoint architecture, hub sites, communication sites and team sites. * Document libraries, lists, metadata, content types, views, search and navigation. * Permissions, sharing controls, Microsoft 365 groups and guest access. * Modern pages, web parts, site templates and basic branding within SharePoint. * An understanding of migration preparation, data mapping, testing and cutover activities. * An awareness of governance, lifecycle management, records management and information architecture.

Microsoft 365 & Power Platform

* Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online and Microsoft EntraID. * An awareness of Microsoft Purview, sensitivity labels, retention and data-loss prevention. * Microsoft 365 administration, security and compliance configuration.

Wider Technical Knowledge

* Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy. * Networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs and firewalls. * Experience of broader cloud, infrastructure or device-management projects is advantageous.

About You

* Have approximately 1-3 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft 365, IT support or project delivery, ideally within an MSP environment. * Have practical experience administering or contributing to SharePoint Online sites, solutions or migrations. * Can gather requirements, ask relevant questions and document business needs clearly. * Communicate clearly and professionally with technical teams, stakeholders and end users. * Are organised, self-motivated and able to manage assigned tasks across multiple projects. * Take ownership of assigned work, document progress thoroughly and ask for support when appropriate. * Care about user adoption, governance and creating solutions that remain manageable after handover.

Key Success Metrics

During your first 12 months you will:

* Contribute successfully to SharePoint Online migrations, modernisation projects and new site implementations. * Develop the ability to create clear SharePoint structures and contribute to governance approaches for clients. * Build positive relationships with client contacts and contribute confidently to discovery sessions. * Support adoption through user-friendly solutions, practical training and high-quality documentation. * Follow and contribute to Trident standards, templates and best practices for SharePoint and Microsoft 365 delivery. * Continue developing your skills through relevant Microsoft training and certifications.

Why Join Trident?

* Varied and interesting project work. * Exposure to a broad range of technologies and customer environments. * Ongoing training and certification opportunities. * Supportive and collaborative technical team. * Clear opportunities for career progression within Professional Services. * Modern Brighton office location with regular team events and social activities.

Benefits

* 33 days of annual leave (including bank holidays), rising by one day per year of service up to 40 days. * Access to on-demand IT courses, practice tests and virtual labs. * Wellbeing - Access to Bupa EAP (Employee Assistance Program) for you and your family. * ‘Cycle to Work’ scheme. * Access to vendor pricing for personal IT hardware and software purchases. * Access to Microsoft Workplace Discount Program – Save up to 10% on Surface devices and 30% on Microsoft 365 subscriptions.
