About the role

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Process & Systems Project Manager responsible for leading assigned initiatives and projects that improve business processes, optimize systems, and support the organization's strategic objectives. Working collaboratively with business leaders, subject matter experts, IT Architecture, Engineering, and other SDI team members, the role ensures solutions are evaluated from an enterprise perspective and aligned with business priorities.  This position is accountable for managing assigned projects throughout their lifecycle, from initial discovery and business analysis through implementation, business acceptance, and evaluation of outcomes.

Departmental Systems Analysis & Optimization:

*   * Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the organization's business systems, their functionality, and how they support business processes across departments. * Evaluate how existing systems are utilized, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with business needs while reducing manual workarounds, duplicate data entry, and inefficient workflows. * Analyze business challenges to determine whether improvements require changes to processes, systems, data, or user practices, while prioritizing optimization of existing systems before recommending new technology solutions. * Identify gaps in business process, system configuration, and data ownership; work with appropriate business and IT leaders to establish and document clear responsibilities.

Business Process Leadership & Continuous Improvement:

*   * Collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to understand business objectives, operational challenges, and opportunities for improvement. * Lead current-state business process discovery, analysis, and documentation, including workflows, business rules, roles, responsibilities, and system interactions, using appropriate methodologies and tools.  * Facilitate future-state process design that addresses business objectives, incorporates stakeholder input, and considers cross-functional impacts and dependencies. * Proactively identify and document process inefficiencies, deficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities; evaluate potential business impacts and benefits and communicate findings and recommendations to appropriate stakeholders. * Translate business process findings and future-state designs into documented business requirements.  Recommend practical, sustainable improvements and collaborate with business stakeholders to establish measurable outcomes and evaluate results.

Strategic Initiative Development & Evaluation:

*   * Collaborate with appropriate business leaders to evaluate improvement opportunities identified through SDI analysis and recommend consideration as strategic initiatives when warranted. * Support the preparation and presentation of Strategic Initiative Briefs and related materials for leadership review, approval, and prioritization.

Project Initiation & Delivery Coordination:

*   * Manage assigned initiatives and projects throughout their lifecycle, from discovery and planning through implementation, business acceptance, and project closure. * Coordinate activities across business stakeholders, SDI team members, IT Architecture, Engineering, and external partners to ensure project requirements, dependencies, and responsibilities are understood and addressed. * Coordinate business validation and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring appropriate stakeholders participate and formal business acceptance is obtained. * Collaborate with business owners and implementation teams to support rollout planning, communication, training, organizational change, and evaluation of business outcomes.

Qualifications

Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant practical business experience. * Minimum of 7 years of progressive professional experience in business operations, project management, process improvement, business analysis, or a related field, including substantial practical business experience. * Experience managing projects or cross-functional initiatives, including coordinating stakeholders, deliverables, timelines, and priorities. * Experience collaborating across business functions and utilizing business analysis, process mapping, project management, and Microsoft 365 tools. * Demonstrated strengths in business process analysis, process improvement, project management, requirements development, future-state solution design, or related disciplines. * Working knowledge of enterprise business systems, with the aptitude to understand system functionality, integrations, data flows, and business impacts. * Experience in a complex, multi-location, or growing organization preferred.

What You Need to Be Successful

* Demonstrated understanding of how business processes, people, systems, and data interact to support organizational objectives. * Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with the curiosity to question assumptions and identify underlying business challenges. * Sound business judgment and the ability to evaluate opportunities and decisions from an enterprise-wide perspective. * Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and manage multiple initiatives while maintaining accountability for commitments and results. * Excellent communication, listening, facilitation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus across organizational levels without direct authority. * Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to producing accurate, clear, and useful documentation. * Self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive, with a willingness to learn, explore new approaches, and operate effectively in evolving environments.

Certificates

* Professional certifications in project management, business analysis, or process improvement (such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent credentials) preferred
