About the role

Job Description

This is a hands-on technical design position requiring strong drafting capabilities, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage multiple assignments.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working with a strong sense of urgency. Our studio operates in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly, and we need someone who can adapt, stay organized, and consistently move projects forward.

The successful candidate will be confident taking direction, asking thoughtful questions when necessary, and executing assignments without requiring constant oversight.

Clear, concise, and efficient communication is essential. Our Principal Designer manages a demanding schedule, so the ability to provide focused updates, quickly communicate important information, identify potential issues, and present solutions is critical.

We value team members who take ownership of their work, anticipate next steps, and understand the importance of maintaining momentum without sacrificing accuracy or quality.

Key Responsibilities

* Create accurate, detailed AutoCAD drawings for luxury residential interior design projects.

* Develop floor plans, furniture layouts, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and interior architectural details.

* Prepare construction documentation, cabinetry drawings, millwork details, and custom architectural elements.

* Translate design concepts, sketches, and direction into professional technical drawings.

* Collaborate closely with the Principal Designer and design team to ensure design intent is accurately documented.

* Coordinate technical information with architects, contractors, builders, vendors, and specialty fabricators.

* Review drawings and specifications for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

* Identify potential design conflicts, missing information, and technical challenges before they impact project timelines.

* Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining deadlines and quality standards.

* Communicate project progress, outstanding decisions, and potential delays clearly and efficiently.

* Take initiative in resolving technical challenges and moving assigned work forward.

* Maintain organized project documentation, drawings, and revisions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* Professional experience in interior design, preferably within luxury residential projects.

* Strong AutoCAD proficiency, with the ability to independently produce accurate, professional-quality technical drawings.

* Demonstrated understanding of interior design principles, space planning, materials, finishes, and interior architectural detailing.

* Experience preparing floor plans, elevations, construction drawings, cabinetry details, or millwork documentation.

* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.

* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.

* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

* A proactive mindset and demonstrated sense of urgency.

* Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with leadership, colleagues, and project partners.

* Comfortable receiving direction and independently executing assignments with minimal supervision.

* Must currently reside in the Greater Orlando area or already have established plans to relocate to the Orlando area.

* Must be available to work full-time, in-office at our Winter Park studio.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with a luxury residential interior design firm.

* Educational or professional background in interior architecture, architecture, or architectural drafting.

* Experience developing detailed custom millwork, cabinetry, and interior construction documents.

* Experience coordinating technical drawings with architects, builders, contractors, and vendors.

* Familiarity with Revit, SketchUp, or other design and visualization software.

* Experience working on multiple residential projects simultaneously.

Candidates with architectural experience are encouraged to apply. However, applicants must also demonstrate relevant interior design experience or knowledge. This position requires an understanding of interior spaces, materials, finishes, and residential design—not solely architectural drafting.

What We're Looking For

Technical ability is extremely important, but we are equally focused on finding someone whose working style complements our team.

Our ideal candidate is:

* Fast-Paced and Efficient: Works with a sense of urgency, understands deadlines, and maintains momentum without compromising quality.

* Proactive: Anticipates needs, identifies priorities, and takes initiative rather than waiting for repeated direction.

* Independent: Confidently takes ownership of assignments and follows through with minimal oversight.

* Solution-Oriented: Identifies challenges early and approaches leadership with potential solutions rather than problems alone.

* An Effective Communicator: Provides clear, concise, and timely updates, particularly when communicating with busy leadership.

* Highly Organized: Manages multiple projects, deadlines, and shifting priorities without losing track of important details.

* Detail-Oriented: Takes pride in producing accurate, thorough, and professional technical documentation.

* Collaborative: Works well with designers, architects, contractors, and vendors while remaining accountable for individual responsibilities.

We are looking for someone who can confidently step into a busy design studio, quickly understand expectations, and become a dependable member of the team.

Location Requirements

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Winter Park, Florida. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.

We are considering candidates who:

* Currently reside in the Greater Orlando area; or

* Already have established plans to relocate to the Greater Orlando area and can provide an anticipated relocation date.

Applicants must be available to work in person at our Winter Park studio.

All applicants must submit the following materials to be considered:

1. Updated Resume: Include relevant professional experience, technical drafting skills, and interior design background.

2. AutoCAD Work Samples (Required): Submit examples of technical drawings you personally created. Samples may include floor plans, elevations, millwork details, cabinetry drawings, reflected ceiling plans, or construction documentation.

4. LinkedIn Profile: Provide a direct link to your current LinkedIn profile.

5. Location Confirmation: Confirm whether you currently reside in the Greater Orlando area or have established relocation plans. If relocating, please provide your anticipated arrival date.
