Job Description
Overview Support the preparation, service, and smooth running of catering operations, helping to deliver high-quality food and a well-organized service across daily meals and events.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with food preparation, including basic food handling and portioning under guidance from chefs or kitchen staff * Support service of meals, including counter service, buffet setup, and replenishment of food stations * Help set up and break down catering areas for meetings, events, and functions * Maintain cleanliness of service and dining areas, following daily and weekly cleaning schedules * Wash, clean, and store equipment, utensils, and surfaces in line with hygiene standards * Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and inventory checks * Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues * Follow all food safety, health and safety, and allergen procedures at all times * Carry out other ad hoc duties as required; flexibility is essential, as tasks may vary day to day
Requirements
* Previous experience in catering, food service, or kitchen support is helpful but not essential — full training will be provided * A Food Hygiene certificate is desirable * Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team * Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and able to lift/move deliveries and equipment * Flexible approach to shift patterns and tasks * Friendly, professional manner with good attention to detail
