About the role

About Hedrick Brothers Construction

Founded in 1979, Hedrick Brothers Construction is a family-owned commercial general contractor headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida, with offices in Winter Park, Stuart, and Miami. For more than 45 years, we have built projects throughout Florida in hospitality, multifamily, industrial, healthcare, and public-sector markets.

Our work is guided by our GRIT values—Growth, Resourcefulness, Integrity, and Team—and a culture built on doing right by our people, trade partners, and clients.

The Opportunity

As a Superintendent II, you independently run a moderately complex commercial project from mobilization through closeout, owning the field in full. You may direct an Assistant Superintendent and are trusted to manage multiple trades, demanding schedules, and direct owner and design-team interaction. Driving safety, quality, schedule, and the relationships that decide whether a client builds with HBC again.

What You'll Do

Project Leadership

* Lead total construction effort to deliver the project in accordance with design, budget, and schedule, and supervise field personnel including manpower scheduling and performance evaluation.  * Build and lead a cohesive trade partner team, resolving complaints and grievances within the workforce.  * Own startup and closeout, including the start-up checklist, site-specific safety plan, and obtaining all vendor and trade partner documentation.

Scheduling & Coordination

* Develop and maintain project schedules in partnership with the Project Manager. * Produce schedule updates and short-term look-ahead schedules. * Coordinate trade partners, project logistics, and site activities on occupied or constrained projects. * Collaborate with Virtual Design & Construction teams to resolve constructability and coordination challenges. * Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials, tools, and equipment.

Quality & Client Service

* Lead quality control efforts and pre-installation planning across all scopes of work. * Coordinate inspections and maintain compliance with applicable codes and regulations. * Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, permits, as-builts, and Procore records. * Build strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and inspectors. * Support project closeout and warranty activities to ensure long-term client satisfaction.

Safety Leadership

* Champion Hedrick Brothers' safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and project-specific safety plans. * Conduct and document weekly safety meetings and jobsite inspections. * Maintain required safety documentation, signage, PPE, SDS records, and emergency-response resources. * Partner with the Safety Department to identify and resolve hazards promptly. * Investigate incidents, complete required reporting, and coordinate with company leadership as needed.

What You Bring

Experience & Education

* High school diploma or equivalent required. * Minimum 6-10 years of commercial construction experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Strong experience managing complex, phased, occupied, or technically challenging projects. * Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop field teams.

Certifications & Licenses

* OSHA 30-Hour certification required. * First Aid/CPR certification required. * AGC Supervisory Training Program (STP) completed or willingness to complete. * Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Skills & Qualifications

* Advanced proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office. * Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments. * Strong client-facing skills and commitment to quality and safety.

Physical Requirements

This position is primarily based on active construction sites and requires standing, walking, climbing, and navigating uneven terrain for extended periods. Team members may be exposed to weather, noise, dust, machinery, and other jobsite conditions. The role occasionally requires lifting up to 50 pounds and the ability to safely operate in active construction environments.

What We Offer

* Competitive compensation based on experience * Profit sharing and performance-based bonus opportunities * Medical, dental, and vision insurance * Company-paid life insurance and disability coverage * 401(k) with company match * Paid time off, company holidays, and paid parental leave * Wellness reimbursement program * Annual company apparel stipend * Professional development and certification support * Clear advancement opportunities within a collaborative, GRIT-driven culture
