About the role
Primary Responsibility:
Manufacture and repair special products - build prototypes
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Efficiently operate all standard machine tools * Make mathematical calculations required for setting up and machining any part * Read drawings, use precision measuring instruments and hand tools * Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications * Assemble and disassemble precision parts and equipment * Welding ( tig, mig, stick and gas ) * Metal fabrication * Reverse engineering * Design and build tooling and fixtures * Manufacture dies, machine tools, cutting tools, and other tools
Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
* Good mechanical skills * Good shop math skills * Basic understanding of hydraulics, electricity, pneumatics, and a familiarization with computer technology. * Thorough knowledge of metallurgy and heat treating * Work with minimum supervision
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
* High school diploma or equivalent. * Four years journeyman level experience.
Physical requirements
* Able to lift 35 lbs. on occasion * Stand for extended periods - 2 hour periods * Some overtime required
