About the role
About the Role
Join a small engineering team building the backend and integrations behind a logistics decision-intelligence platform for temperature-sensitive and high-value shipments. You will own data-heavy systems that turn partner and IoT data into reliable shipment visibility and timely risk insights.
What You'll Do
* Design and build backend services and distributed systems for logistics orchestration and shipment risk analysis.
* Own end-to-end partner data flows, from integrating and normalizing multi-vendor and IoT data through warehousing, monitoring, and operational support.
* Develop event-driven services and predictive workflows that support shipment risk assessment, on-time and in-full performance, and exception handling.
* Build and maintain partner-facing APIs, webhooks, queues, and other external integrations.
* Improve the reliability and scalability of services through testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
What We're Looking For
* At least 5 years of backend engineering experience building scalable, distributed production systems, with roughly 6 to 10 years preferred.
* Hands-on proficiency in Python and TypeScript or Node.js, plus SQL, relational data modeling, and experience with NoSQL databases and ETL pipelines.
* Experience with IoT data ingestion and contextualization, partner APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
* Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, REST or gRPC APIs, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
* Strong production ownership, including deployment, on-call support, security considerations, and service observability.
* Ability to work independently as a senior individual contributor; logistics, supply chain, cold-chain, or regulated healthcare experience is a plus.
