Job Description
Essential Duties/Functions:
* Provide medical support to preschool-aged children, some with significant disabilities and medical needs, attending the Approved Private School. * Manage student documentation, providing appropriate medical care and medication administration, as well as coordinating with staff in the program. * Administer first aid and illness assessment, emergency care when needed, administering medications, completing feedings and other medically necessary procedures. * Consult with staff members as well as administration, coordinating with private duty nurses, maintaining medical records, assisting families with medical questions and medical documentation needed, and other duties as needed. * Communicate with other staff, students and parents to address any medical or safety concerns.
Non-essential Duties/Functions:
* Perform other related administrative tasks on occasion. * All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
* Pennsylvania RN or LPN license required. Certified School Nurse highly desired. * Experience in seizure management as well as experience with all aspects of tube feeding required. * Prior work experience with children with special needs preferred. * School-based experience a plus. * Adult, Child, & Infant CPR and First Aid Certifications required. * Excellent documentation as well as written and verbal communication skills required. * Complete all clearances as required.
