Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
* Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities. * Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy. * Support the preparation of financial reports and maintain accurate accounting records. * Assist with account analyses, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance reporting. * Collaborate with internal business partners across Hearst Magazines’ brands to support day-to-day financial operations. * Help maintain compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and company procedures. * Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and required documentation. * Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and contribute to operational efficiencies.
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
* No prior experience required; internships, co-op experience, or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related field are welcome. * Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. * Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or financial systems is a plus. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. * Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute across teams. * Hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC, with an expectation of working in the office four days per week.

Compensation
The base salary range below is the Company's good-faith estimate for this position in the posted work location at the time of posting. Final starting salary will be based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, training, certifications, education, location and market considerations.
Base Salary Range: $58,000—$70,000 USD
