Laboratory Technician II, Genomics Services
We are actively looking for a motivated and experienced Laboratory Technician II to join our Genomics Unit. Summary You will be partly responsible for carrying out molecular laboratory analyses within our Genomics Unit. In this lab, in addition to DNA and/or RNA extractions, you will also perform molecular analyses using the latest technologies.
Responsibilities * Perform specialized molecular analyses of varying complexity on different platforms * Control the operation of analysis equipment and report malfunctions * Monitor lab processes and record data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) * Prepare analyses, equipment, and samples according to testing requirements * Document the laboratory work performed * Assist with data interpretation * Write operating procedures
Education * Professional bachelor's degree in Medical, Pharmaceutical, or Biomedical Laboratory Technology, or Biochemistry
Main Requirements * At least 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in a molecular laboratory * Prior experience in with NGS is preferred * Able to use a computer (Word, Excel) and a database, or willing to learn * Flexible, communicative, and enjoys working in a team * Works within a quality system (ISO 15189:2012), requiring accuracy and the ability to work in a planned and documented manner * Able to express ideas fluently, both orally and in writing, in Dutch and English * Strong reporting skills for processing results * Flexible and enthusiastic working attitude, with decisiveness * Mature, taking initiatives * Facilitate process improvement and implementation
Working Conditions * Full-time position, 100% onsite
