About the role

We’re looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to help shape the financial insight and decision-making that will support our next stage of growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine financial expertise with business partnering and transformation. You'll lead forecasting and performance reporting, connect operational activity with financial outcomes, and develop smarter, more scalable ways to plan and analyse performance across our surgeries and hospitals.

Working closely with Operations, Technology and external partners, you'll help us move beyond spreadsheet-heavy processes, modernise our reporting tools and turn data into clear, actionable insight that drives better decisions across the organisation.

Animal Trust is an independent, not-for-profit veterinary social enterprise committed to making comprehensive veterinary care more accessible and affordable. From everyday care to advanced Referral and Pet A&E services, we help pets and people live healthier lives.

As a Community Interest Company, we reinvest in our people, facilities and services, giving our teams opportunities to develop their clinical expertise while delivering the right care for every patient.

Our values guide everything we do: Animal Welfare First, Right Care, Right Cost, Together with Purpose and Expertise in Practice. Together, they reflect our commitment to putting patients first, supporting one another and making a meaningful difference every day.

What you’ll do

* Own our P&L, capital and cash forecasting processes and lead the move from Excel-based models to a more efficient, integrated rolling forecasting platform.

* Develop driver-based forecasts linking appointments, capacity, staffing and other operational activity to financial outcomes.

* Coordinate forecast assumptions with budget owners and provide scenarios to support decisions.

* Produce clear site, regional and organisation-wide performance reporting.

* Investigate the causes of revenue, activity, productivity and cost movements, identifying practical opportunities for improvement.

* Partner with Operations and Capital Projects teams to agree actions and track their financial and operational impact.

* Own the business requirements for forecasting and management information; work with Technology and external data partners to assess, select, implement and improve appropriate tools.

* Work with the Financial Controller to ensure financial reporting and performance analysis reconcile to trusted actuals.

* Lead adoption of new forecasting and reporting tools across Finance and Operations, reducing manual spreadsheet work and ensuring clear KPI definitions, reliable data and effective user training.

* Support the Finance Director with P&L forecast inputs for cash and funding planning.

What you’ll bring:

Essential

* ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification. * Strong FP&A, commercial finance or management accounting experience. * Excellent understanding of P&L drivers and operational performance. * Experience in forecasting, budgeting, scenario modelling and management reporting. * Power BI or similar BI experience. * Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, with the ability to translate Finance requirements into better systems. * Confidence communicating insight and constructively challenging stakeholders. * A practical, commercially curious approach focused on recommendations and outcomes.

Desirable

* Multi-site or service-led organisation experience. * Experience implementing or improving forecasting, planning or reporting systems.
