About the role

The company

Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don’t wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that’s as flexible and responsive as they are.

That's why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it's needed.

We’ve already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive.

The role

As an Account Manager, you build your own portfolio of business owners and help them navigate their financial journey with iwoca. Your work directly contributes to the financial success of iwoca and the customer experience. From independent hair salons to established dental practices, you will ensure our customers feel supported, heard, and empowered to grow.

The requirements

Essential:

* Demonstrates curiosity to use and learn more about AI tools. You’ll already be comfortable using AI tools in practical ways to help solve problems, increase productivity and improve quality of work, showing good judgement about when to use them and the ability to explain the reasoning behind that use.

* Guide & Assist: Support new customers through their application journey, simplifying complex steps and finding the right financial solutions for their business goals.

* Build Partnerships: Foster long-lasting, trust-based relationships with a portfolio of existing and new clients.

* Champion the Customer: Our systems are always developing. Act as the internal "Voice of the Customer," sharing insights with our product and tech teams to help us innovate and stay ahead of the competition.

* Strategic Growth: Use your understanding of business drivers to help clients maximise their potential while keeping them informed about new opportunities and product developments.

* Collaborate: Work within an international, cross-functional team to improve our processes and help us scale our mission.

The most important things about you:

We are looking for a driven, communicative, empathetic professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. You might be the right fit if:

* You are Multilingual: You possess C1-level German communication skills (both written and spoken) and are comfortable collaborating in English within our diverse, international office.

* You are a People Person: You genuinely enjoy connecting with others and are motivated by seeing your clients succeed.

* You Thrive in Fast-Paced Environments: You have proven experience managing a high volume of calls without losing your cool. You can multitask effectively while maintaining a high standard of service and a positive tone.

* You are a Problem-Solver: You enjoy thinking creatively and "outside the box" to find solutions for your clients and improvements for the team.

* You are Organised & Proactive: You take pride in managing your work independently while remaining a reliable and supportive team player.

The salary

We expect to pay from £34,000 - £42,000 for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.

We don't expect you to tick every box when it comes to experience or qualifications, and we'd still love to hear from you if your background is a little different. However, German language proficiency at a minimum C1 level (spoken and written) is essential for this role and isn't something we can be flexible on.

This is a German-speaking, customer-facing role. A minimum C1 level of German, both spoken and written, is essential. You'll be communicating with German-speaking customers daily, so you'll need to be confident handling conversations, explaining information and answering questions fluently in German. All interviews are conducted in German, and the next stage of our recruitment process will assess your spoken German.

The culture

At iwoca, we prioritise a culture of learning, growth, and support, and invest in the development of our team members. We value thought and skill diversity, and encourage people to explore new areas of interest, adopt better tools – including AI – and apply sound judgement so our products and decisions improve over time.

The offices

We put a lot of effort into making iwoca a great place to work:

* Offices in London, Leeds, Berlin, and Frankfurt with plenty of drinks and snacks.

* Events and community-led groups, including running groups, padel, and monthly ping-pong and pool competitions.

The benefits

* Flexible working hours.

* Medical insurance from Vitality, including discounted gym membership.

* A choice between a dedicated dental plan or a health cash plan that reimburses everyday medical expenses.

* A private GP service (separate from Vitality) for you, your partner, and your dependents.

* 25 days’ holiday per year, an extra day off for your birthday, the option to buy or sell an additional five days of annual leave, and unlimited unpaid leave.

* A one-month, fully paid sabbatical after four years.

* Instant access to external counselling and therapy sessions for team members that need emotional or mental health support.

* 3% Pension contributions on total earnings.

* An employee equity incentive scheme.

* Generous parental leave and a nursery tax benefit scheme to help you save money.

* Electric car scheme and cycle to work scheme.

* Two company retreats a year: we’ve been to France, Italy, Spain, and further afield.

And to make sure we all keep learning, we offer:

* A learning and development budget for everyone.

* Company-wide talks with internal and external speakers.

* Access to learning platforms like Treehouse.
