About the role

Family Location: 94087

Summary:

A bit about us: We are a loving, curious, and adventurous family with two young boys. We enjoy hiking, building things together, and finding fun in everyday discoveries. We value open communication, thoughtful routines, and a playful, positive approach to helping our children learn and grow. Our 4.5-year-old son is imaginative and endlessly curious, especially about trains, building projects, books, board games, and exploring outdoors. Our 22-month-old son loves vehicles, airplanes, and story time. He can eat food in small pieces and drink bottles that are pre-thickened and prepared by us. When it comes to water and medication, that has to be administered through his G-tube and we will provide instructions and coaching.

A bit about you: You bring wonderful energy, a silly sense of humor, and a genuine excitement for children's questions and discoveries. You are curious, love learning new things,  and playing outdoors when the weather is nice! You’re the nanny who gets on the floor to build a train track, invent a story, or turn a trip to the park into an adventure. Equally important, you are attentive to details and confident/coachable in following individualized medical and safety instructions. You communicate promptly and clearly, welcome feedback, and enjoy partnering with parents to create a consistent, nurturing environment.

Job Duties: Provide attentive, engaging care for both children, including outings to parks, the library, and other age-appropriate destinations, lunch meal prep for children, preschool drop-off and pickup, and the younger child's bottle and nap routine. Plan active, screen-free play, reading, building, and imaginative activities that encourage curiosity and help both boys use their energy positively. Routinely follow the younger child's individualized care plan, including G-tube hydration and medication procedures as directed and trained by the parents, pre-thickened bottles prepared by the parents, aspiration precautions, and food cut into the required small pieces. Maintain the family's strictly nut-free and dairy-free home (Mom is severely allergic.) and follow their food, hygiene, and illness-prevention protocols. Communicate promptly about any concerns or incidents (We don’t expect perfection, but communication is key.) and share clear daily updates on meals, naps, care, and activities. During nap time, handle light child-related tasks such as washing lunch items and bottles, tidying toys, vacuuming around the dining and play areas, and folding family laundry. Drive the children in your own vehicle using car seats installed by the parents, and consistently follow seatbelt and helmet safety practices (if riding a bike).

Position Highlights: * Long-term Outlook * Accrued Sick Pay * Some Paid Holidays * Gas Mileage Reimbursement * Dander-free Home/No Pet Care

Qualifications: Experience caring for toddlers and preschoolers, including managing big feelings and sibling conflicts with calm boundaries and redirection, is important. Candidates must be comfortable learning and reliably carrying out administering medication and water through a G-tube with appropriate instruction; pediatric CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain, is required. A reliable personal vehicle, safe driving record (driving screen is hired), excellent communication, and a commitment to punctuality, hygiene, and the family's no-screen-time and nut-free/dairy-free household rules are essential.

Set yourself apart: An early childhood education background, experience with medically complex childcare, and familiarity with baby signs or ASL would all be nice-to-haves.

Schedule: Mondays and Thursdays (10a-6p) OR Mondays and Wednesdays (10a-6p)

Pay: $40-$45 an hour

**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
