We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join the team at our Norridge, IL location. The Norridge location of NSI is a progressive manufacturer of die castings that has been in business for 60+ years, and we look forward to having you join our team! Please note, this is a full-time, 1st shift position (7am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday).
General Summary Accountable for making sure that the overall part quality meets customer specification. Responsibilities * Inspect assigned material per Control Plan * Identify non-conforming material * Complete all in-process inspection records * Approve in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments * Accept/reject production material * Stop production when non-conformity has been detected * Provide quality instructions to operators * Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into database * Complete First-piece Set-up Inspection Report * Follow up on repair tags * Prepare various quality documents * Report quality concerns * Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications * Basic understanding of blueprints * Basic math skills * Proficiency in reading and writing * Proficient use of measuring/inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, indicators etc. * Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities * Ability to lift up to 50lbs. regularly, have adequate manual dexterity, be able to walk and stand for continuous hours on concrete floors and work at a computer station
Salary Range: $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
Final pay will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, skills, qualifications and work location and may vary accordingly.
