About the role

Job Description

We’re looking for kind and compassionate people like you to join our Home Instead community.

As a Home Care Assistant, you’ll visit older people in their own homes, helping them with their daily routines while providing meaningful companionship. Depending on the person you’re supporting, this may include meal preparation, medication support, getting out and about and personal care.

Our office is based in Worle, Weston-super-Mare, and we support clients across Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Congresbury, Yatton, Burnham-on-Sea, Banwell and surrounding areas.

This is a part-time role with flexible morning or evening hours.

Our main care visits are between:

* Mornings: 8:00am–12:00pm * Evenings: 6:00pm–9:30pm

We are looking for people who can work 3 or 4 weekdays plus every other weekend. Additional hours are also available at different times during weekends.

What we offer:

* £13.40 per hour before 6pm on weekdays * £15.20 per hour after 6pm and all day at weekends * Double pay on Bank Holidays * Paid travel time and mileage * Access to part of your pay early rather than waiting until payday * Paid holiday, including on a zero-hours contract * Paid training and shadowing * DBS fee paid * Regular working patterns with the same clients * 24/7 on-call support and a friendly, supportive office team * Regular team meetings, training updates and support visits * Free qualifications including NVQ diplomas and Level 2 certificates * Fully funded City & Guilds qualification in Dementia * Free uniform, rucksack and PPE * Employee Assistance Programme * Staff appreciation schemes and social events * Home Instead employee benefits * Refer-a-friend bonus * Company pension

You don’t need to have worked in care before. If you are kind, dependable and genuinely enjoy helping people, we can provide the training and support you need.

This is a rewarding role where you can build real relationships and make a genuine difference to someone’s life.

Qualifications

No previous care experience is needed, just your natural caring qualities. We’ll provide full training, shadow shifts and introduce you to your clients so you feel confident and supported from the start.

As you’ll be visiting clients in their own homes, a full UK driving licence and access to your own car are essential for this role.

We’ll continue to support your development with ongoing training and qualifications, including the Care Certificate, Health and Social Care diplomas and a wide range of additional learning opportunities.

Additional Information

We welcome applications from all sections of our community and want our team to reflect the neighbourhoods we support.

Home Instead is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults, and all team members are expected to share this commitment. This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

This role is based in the UK, and your right to work in the UK will be checked as part of our recruitment process.
