Your role and responsibilities:
Order-to-Delivery Business Lead
As the Order-to-Delivery Business Lead, you will own on-time, in-full delivery for a high-volume manufacturing business end to end: from demand and replenishment, through production and inventory, to the warehouse and shipment. You will co-own the outcome with an SAP solution lead as equals. You decide what gets fixed and in what order, and they decide how it is built. This is a founding, hands-on business role in our first value stream. You will have the authority to change the processes, rules and systems behind your number, and you will stay until the number moves. You will report to the Vice President of IT and work directly with a business sponsor in Installation Products, who agrees the target with you.
This is a remote role, from anywhere in the US or Canada, with regular travel to our plants, distribution centers and the Cary, NC office. You will be working in North American time zones.
This role contributes to the Electrification Business Area in North America, Installation Products division.
Main stakeholders are the Installation Products business sponsor, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, Distribution and Customer Service, Sales, Finance, and Information Systems.
You will be mainly accountable for:
* Owning one business outcome, orders shipped complete on the committed date. You protect it so it is never bought with extra inventory or padded lead times. * Finding the root cause of every missed order using data, and fixing causes rather than expediting symptoms. * Setting priorities: what gets fixed, built, switched off or replaced, including business rules such as stock allocation when they cause misses. * Managing change across plants, distribution centers and system teams that do not report to you. * Running short experiments of one to two months, then keeping what moves the number and dropping what does not. * Reporting results honestly to business leaders, including what is not working.
Qualifications for the role:
* A degree in supply chain, engineering, business or a related field. * 8+ years in manufacturing or distribution in planning, scheduling, inventory, fulfillment, order management or operations. That includes 3+ years accountable for an operational result such as on-time in-full, fill rate, promise accuracy or inventory. * You can follow an order from demand to shipment across plants and distribution centers, and say where it gets stuck. Make-to-stock, make-to-order or both are valued. * You have traced delivery misses with data, found the real cause, and made a fix that stuck. * You use SAP hands-on in order fulfillment as a user, power user or process lead. SAP design or configuration is not required. * Experience building your own data tools, such as analyses, dashboards, automations or AI workflows, and others use them. * You demonstrate curiosity, willingness to adjust, and openness to new information in the face of ambiguity. * You demonstrate impact by sharing an outcome with a peer and building partnership rather than ownership boundaries. * Effective communication skills with ability to move between a plant manager, a sales leader and an SAP team in the same day. * Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US.
What's in it for you:
This is a business role placed in IT on purpose. You get direct authority over the systems and rules behind your number, an SAP co-owner and a team who build what you decide, and decisions made in hours rather than in steering committees. You are measured on a business result, not on IT delivery. If you are an ABB colleague from planning, customer service, distribution or plant operations, your knowledge of how we really run becomes a direct advantage. As the founding lead of our first value stream, you will shape the model the next streams follow, and you may go on to open the next one.
We give you the space to lead, the support to grow, and the chance to make a difference. Whether you're solving problems, building something new, or helping others succeed, your impact is real. You’ll be part of a team that values your voice and celebrates your progress.
