About the role

Our Fleet Department is growing! We are looking for a Vessel Engineer to join our fleet department, who wants to be part of a close-knit team on board our survey vessels, delivering survey operations across Europe. About us: Njord Survey was founded in 2015 with a clear ambition: to challenge how offshore surveys are delivered. By combining state-of-the-art technology with innovative thinking, we deliver high-quality hydrographic and geophysical surveys more efficiently, for navigation, dredging, charting, marine construction for renewable energy and more. We are in an exciting phase of growth, now with more than 120 dedicated employees delivering tailored solutions to meet each project’s and client’s needs. Scope of work: At Njord Survey we have a set-up where the processing of data is carried out from the Gothenburg office while the vessel crew is responsible for collecting the data. Our lean crewed vessels typically have a crew of between 2 to 8 people depending on the vessel size and project. For this position, offshore work will be conducted onboard vessel owned by Njord Survey. Our vessels operate in Europe, where work is conducted for two weeks at a time, followed by four weeks off. On board, we work as one team. The vessel operates independently in planning and executing survey operations, in close collaboration with the office and our onshore processing team. Together, the crew is responsible for the safe navigation, operation and maintenance of the vessel, including onboard planning, procurement, inventory and reporting to project management. We are constantly developing how we operate, and your experience and ideas are part of that. As Engineer you are responsible for the technical condition of the vessel. Our vessels have a high degree of automation and electronics, so the work spans machinery, electrical systems, and control and automation. You work independently in your area, but you are never alone: you have the support of the crew on board and of colleagues ashore, including the Technical Superintendent. Your work will mainly be situated on our larger vessels, Northern Storm and Northern Gale. It also includes supporting our smaller vessels, which do not have an engineer on board. The position includes travels in Europe and a chance to experience new places. We are proud to be using the latest technology to deliver high quality products to our clients. We collaborate with world leading tech companies such as Kongsberg, Volvo Penta, Humphree, Comap and Seakeeper to continuously optimize our vessels. Requirements STCW engine certificate

Basic safety STCW

B driving licence

Medical certificate, ENG1 or equivalent

Practical experience as an engineer on board vessels, including working independently

Documented experience of troubleshooting and repairing machinery, electrical systems and automation/electronics on board

EU/EEA citizenship and residency in Sweden

Professional proficiency in English, spoken and written

Merits (not required) Experience from the offshore survey industry

Experience from diverse vessels with different technical set-ups

Experience of systems from Kongsberg, Volvo Penta, Humphree, Comap or Seakeeper

Knowledge of the equipment of our vessels Northern Storm and Northern Gale

Completed the program of Engine officer class VII (Maskinbefäl klass VII) and/or Marine Engineer (Sjöingenjörsexamen)
