Who we are

Glencore is one of the world’s largest global diversified natural resource companies and a major producer and marketer of more than 60 commodities. Through a network of assets, customers and suppliers that spans the globe, we produce, process, recycle, source, market and distribute the commodities that advance everyday life.

With over 140,000 employees and contractors and a strong footprint in over 30 countries in both established and emerging regions for natural resources, our marketing and industrial activities are supported by a global network of offices.

The Asset Management and ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) Placement

Our Asset Management and ERM team provides strategic and functional support to our businesses and assets globally, ensuring that operations are delivered in a safe, reliable and responsible manner, and risks are understood and managed effectively. This role will be focused on Business Projects and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), working closely with our Assets in South Africa and Brazil. The team is involved across the full lifecycle, and is engaged in supporting all levels in the business, from front line operations to senior level governance, offering an invaluable insight into all aspects of the business.

Glencore defines ERM as the application of risk management principles and risk-based decision-making across our Group to assist us in achieving our strategic objectives in compliance with our Code of Conduct.

In this placement, you’ll support members of the Asset Management and ERM team, contributing to their work on projects and initiatives encapsulating all key strategic areas of the underlying assets. This role will report to the Asset Manager & ERM Lead (Oil Assets).

Who we look for

We’re looking for driven, talented undergraduate students who are interested in an exciting, challenging career in the commodities sector.
