Job Description
* Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with potential behavioral support needs. * Assist with activities of daily living, household cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, budgeting, personal goals, appointments, community activities, and engagement. * Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment. * Promote independence, personal choice, and life skills development. * Support individuals in achieving goals and objectives outlined in their Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and document progress accordingly. * Observe and communicate changes, concerns, and progress to supervisors and team members. * Transport individuals to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed. * Complete accurate and timely electronic documentation in accordance with program and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required (Must-Have)
* Minimum of 18 years of age * Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance * Basic computer skills for documentation and communication * Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English * Willingness to assist individuals with personal cares and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, or squat for extended periods * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Skills & Abilities
* Experience, training, or transferable skills that support success in a direct support role * Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills * Genuine interest in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities * Ability to promote independence, community engagement, and person-centered supports
