About the role

Join Our Team!

Enjoy thrifting, organizing, decluttering, and helping others? At Caring Transitions, we help families navigate life’s challenging transitions with compassion, dignity, and care.

We’re looking for a flexible, dependable person who takes initiative, works at a quick, steady pace, and makes timely, practical decisions. You should enjoy hands-on work, keeping projects moving, and have the ability to adapt when plans change. This is a part-time position with hours based on client needs and scheduled projects. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary significantly from week to week.

No two days are the same! You might spend one day organizing a home, another preparing items for an online estate auction, and another packing for a move. This position offers the opportunity to quickly grow into a team lead role as you learn our processes and demonstrate leadership.

What You’ll Do:

* Sort, organize, and label belongings with care and respect.

* Help families work through decluttering, donations, resale items, and keepsakes.

* Arrange, photograph, and prepare items for resale using our app.

* Use technology and online research to estimate item values and make informed decisions about pricing and resale options.

* Take initiative, stay productive, and adjust to changing priorities throughout the day.

What We’re Looking For:

* A heart for helping others and sensitivity to the emotional aspects of life transitions.

* A flexible, adaptable approach to changing tasks, priorities, and home environments.

* The ability to work efficiently and make decisions promptly, while paying attention to detail and knowing when to ask for guidance.

* Someone who notices what needs to be done and takes action without needing frequent direction.

* An interest in thrifting, organizing, and decluttering.

* Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various home environments.

* Basic computer skills and comfort learning apps or online tools.

* A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a working cell phone.

Experience & Leadership Opportunity:

Previous experience coordinating work, training coworkers, or leading a small team is preferred but not required. Relevant backgrounds may include retail, hospitality, moving, cleaning, professional organizing, estate sales, or event work. A formal management title is not necessary.

For someone who demonstrates strong judgment, initiative, and teamwork, there is potential to take on team lead responsibilities, including assigning tasks, guiding team members, monitoring progress, and communicating project updates to the owner. We value a leader who works alongside the team and sets a positive example.

Perks of Joining Our Team:

* Part-time work with flexible hours.

* A variety of hands-on projects that keep the work interesting.

* An opportunity to develop leadership skills and take on greater responsibility.

* Meaningful work supporting families through important life changes.
