School Nurse (RN)
Danbury, North Carolina 2026–2027 School Year Full-Time | W-2 Contract Compensation: $40–$48/hour
Job Description
The Stepping Stones Group (sister company of Kinetic) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Danbury, NC for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time position supporting a local K–12 district with private-duty/1:1 nursing services.
Working with The Stepping Stones Group provides consistent pay, clinical support from experienced nurses, and support from a team specializing in school-based nursing.
Minimum Requirements
* Active RN license valid in North Carolina * Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program * Current BLS CPR/AED certification * Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student, including: * Tube feedings and management * Oxygen and airway management * Medication administration * Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills * Ability to work independently in a non-clinical environment * Experience working with the pediatric population
Additional Requirements
* Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations * Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, therapists, and healthcare providers * Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation * Prior school-based experience highly preferred
Responsibilities
* Maintain continuous observation of the assigned student throughout the school day * Implement and monitor student health plans * Accompany the student during transportation and community-based activities when assigned * Communicate significant changes in the student's status to family, school staff, and clinical leadership * Provide first aid, daily medical care, and emergency support * Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA requirements
