Job Description
Job Summary The Laboratory Technician performs tests, experiments, and analyses in a laboratory setting or provides support for laboratory activities. Skilled in multiple laboratory techniques or testing areas.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Perform routine laboratory testing or laboratory support per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) * Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment * Manage inventory for required operating materials * Ensure strict adherence to all Quality Management System (QMS) requirements * Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System requirements * Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established due dates * Provide support for other laboratory areas and complete additional tasks as assigned * Works under the direction of technical leaders
Qualifications

* Excellent record-keeping and documentation * Strong mathematical and scientific understanding * Strong attention to detail * Technical aptitude for operating scientific testing equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required
* Knowledgeable in laboratory safety, chemical handling, scientific concepts, and analytical testing equipment * Proficiency in multiple laboratory techniques and testing areas * Demonstrated expertise in productivity software including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) * Skills in implementing process improvements * Strong written and oral communication skills * Problem-solving and analytical skills * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team environment * Ability to thrive in a high-volume laboratory testing environment
Preferred
* Developing skills in two or more of the following areas: spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, spectrophotometry, electrochemistry, filtrations, extractions, gravimetry, metallography, or chromatography
Education & Experience:
Required
* 3+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques * B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or related scientific field
Preferred
* 5+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques * Experience using a LabWare or similar LIMS * Experience working in an ISO 9001 (or similar) certified organization
