About the role

Pickleball Instructor – Lakeshore Sport & Fitness (Lincoln Park)

Why Lakeshore – A Place to Grow, Contribute, and Connect

We lead with our values: Professionalism, Ownership, Team, Quality, and Positivity, and we live them daily. Whether it’s launching a new kids camp, stepping in to assist a family at the front desk, or recognizing a trainer’s impact, we show up with care and high standards. Our facilities are impressive, but it’s our team culture and commitment to a seamless member experience that make this a truly special place to work and grow.

About the Role

Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing programs at our club, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic Pickleball Instructor to help it keep growing. You’ll teach players of all ages and abilities, from first-timers learning to dink to competitive players working on strategy, through lessons, clinics, and group programs. Just as important, you’ll help build a fun, welcoming pickleball community that keeps members coming back.

This role is ideal for a strong player and natural teacher who loves the game and loves sharing it with others.

What You’ll Do

* Teach private and group lessons for juniors and adults across skill levels * Lead clinics, drills, and beginner introductions to the game * Run open play, round robins, leagues, socials, and special events * Create a fun, inclusive, and organized on-court experience * Help members find the right lessons, clinics, and programs for their level * Work with the racquet sports team on scheduling, programming, and member experience * Maintain a safe and welcoming court environment

What You Bring

* Strong pickleball skills and knowledge of rules, technique, and strategy * Teaching or coaching experience in pickleball, tennis, or another racquet sport * PPR, IPTPA, or similar certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) * Friendly, energetic, and patient communication with players of all levels * A professional, member-first approach and a strong sense of ownership * Availability that includes early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on member demand

Pay & Benefits

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Full-time team members:

* Medical, dental, and vision insurance * Short- and long-term disability insurance * Voluntary life insurance * 401(k) * Paid time off (PTO) * Complimentary family membership, childcare for team members’ children, and 50% off club services

Part-time team members:

* 401(k) (eligibility requirements apply) * Paid leave under the Chicago Paid Leave Ordinance * Complimentary club membership, childcare for team members’ children, and 50% off club services

The pay rate above reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Final pay is based on each candidate’s experience, qualifications, and fit for the role.
