First Databank (FDB) is currently seeking a Product Manager. The Product Manager plays a critical role as an individual contributor, managing and advancing innovative healthcare technology products across FDB’s product portfolio. This role will partner closely with Product Management leadership, Engineering, Clinical, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and external customers to define product priorities, guide product development, and deliver solutions that create measurable value for healthcare organizations, clinicians, software developers, and technology partners.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on product professional with healthcare technology experience, strong business judgment, technical fluency, customer empathy, and practical understanding of how artificial intelligence can responsibly improve product workflows, customer insights, and future product capabilities.

As a Product Manager at FDB, you will play a role in shaping products that have meaningful impact across healthcare while helping advance FDB’s software, platform, and data-driven product strategy. Success in this position requires strong influence, ownership, collaboration, and the ability to lead product work through expertise, clarity, and cross-functional partnership.

This position is based in our San Francisco, CA or Carmel, IN office and follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation to work on-site at least three days per week.

Responsibilities

* Own the product roadmap, backlog priorities, and lifecycle management for assigned product areas. * Define and communicate product goals, customer needs, business objectives, requirements, and success metrics. * Conduct market research, customer discovery, competitive analysis, and industry trend assessment to identify product opportunities and unmet customer needs. * Translate market, customer, clinical, technical, and business requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release priorities. * Partner with Software Engineering, Clinical, UX, QA, Security, Compliance, and other cross-functional teams to guide product development from discovery through launch. * Make informed prioritization recommendations based on customer value, market opportunity, revenue impact, clinical quality, technical feasibility, regulatory considerations, and strategic alignment. * Develop business cases for new products, enhancements, and investment opportunities in partnership with Finance and business stakeholders. * Partner with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Training teams to support go-to-market strategies, launch plans, positioning, sales enablement, and customer communications. * Build strong relationships with customers, prospects, partners, and internal stakeholders to inform roadmap decisions and support adoption. * Analyze product performance, customer feedback, usage data, and market signals to guide continuous improvement. * Serve as a product subject matter expert for assigned products, including customer-facing presentations, internal training, and strategic account support. * Identify opportunities to improve product scalability, usability, interoperability, and value across healthcare technology ecosystems. * Influence cross-functional teams through data, customer insights, product expertise, and clear communication.

AI Proficiency Expectations

FDB is increasingly focused on using artificial intelligence responsibly to improve how we work and how we deliver value to customers. The successful candidate should be able to use AI-enabled tools effectively while applying strong judgment, privacy awareness, and critical review. In this role, you will be expected to:

* Use AI tools responsibly to support product discovery, customer research, competitive analysis, requirements development, workflow analysis, documentation, and stakeholder communication. * Apply practical prompt-writing and AI-assisted analysis techniques to improve productivity and decision-making. * Critically evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy, completeness, bias, assumptions, hallucinations, and business relevance. * Understand core AI concepts, including generative AI, large language models, natural language processing, automation, model limitations, and human-in-the-loop review. * Assess potential AI-enabled product opportunities by considering customer value, feasibility, risk, compliance, clinical quality, and operational impact. * Apply appropriate privacy, security, regulatory, and data governance standards when using AI tools, especially in healthcare and clinical information contexts. * Partner with technical, clinical, compliance, and security teams to evaluate responsible AI use cases within FDB products and internal product management workflows. * Stay informed about emerging AI trends affecting healthcare technology, clinical decision support, interoperability, developer platforms, and product management.

Required Skills

* Ability to translate complex customer, clinical, technical, and business needs into actionable product requirements and roadmap recommendations. * Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and decision-making skills. * Comfort working with software platforms, APIs, SDKs, cloud-based applications, data integrations, or developer-facing tools. * Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority. * Strong product ownership and accountability. * Strategic thinking with the ability to connect market needs, customer problems, and business outcomes. * Strong product judgment and ability to make prioritization tradeoffs. * Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. * Customer-centric mindset and curiosity about healthcare workflows, clinical decision support, and emerging technology. * Strong collaboration skills across Product, Engineering, Clinical, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, and Compliance. * Sound judgment when balancing innovation, clinical quality, technical feasibility, regulatory considerations, and business value. * Growth mindset and willingness to continuously learn new technologies, including AI-enabled product management practices.

Required Experience

* Three or more years of product management, product ownership, business analysis, or related software product experience, preferably in healthcare technology, health information technology, clinical data, integrated drug information, pharmacy systems, medical device information technology, or related software products. * Experience managing product roadmaps, defining product requirements, prioritizing enhancements, and supporting software products through launch and post-launch optimization. * Strong understanding of software product development, Agile methodologies, and collaboration with Engineering, QA, Clinical, and business stakeholders. * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare informatics, business, life sciences, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. * Ability to travel periodically to customer sites, industry events, and company meetings in the United States and Canada.

Preferred Qualifications
