About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly credentialed coach to join a new luxury personal training gym in Central London at the very start of its journey. This role is ideal for a senior coach who wants to put their name to a training product and lead it from the ground up.

As Head of Concept, the successful candidate will define how every client trains within the gym. Working closely with the founders and the General Manager, they will take full ownership of programming, coaching standards and coach development, ensuring the training delivered matches the luxury of the environment around it.

This is a rare opportunity to shape a premium personal training brand before it opens its doors.

THE COMPANY:

Our client is launching a personal-training-led gym designed to set a new standard for premium training in London. The vision is simple: combine the wellness and luxury of the capital's best clubs with genuinely elite coaching and programming.

Set across around 9,000 sq ft just off Oxford Street, the gym will centre on one-to-one personal training and SGPT, supported by classes throughout the day spanning strength, HIIT and conditioning. Members will enjoy high-end facilities and luxury changing areas, with additional wellness facilities such as saunas and cold plunges under consideration.

Above all, the business will be defined by the quality of its coaching, which is why this is one of its first and most important hires.

THE BASICS:

● Salary: £80k (depending on experience) ● Hours: Full-time ● Location: Mayfair ● Start date: Early 2027

The Head of Concept will be the senior owner of the training product, responsible for the programming, coaching standards and client training experience across personal training, small-group training and classes.

Working in close partnership with the General Manager, who will lead memberships, sales, marketing and operations, they will own training quality, programming and the development of the coaching team. While this is a leadership role, they will remain hands-on, coaching clients and covering classes and sessions where needed.

THE ROLE:

Programming + Training Concepts:

* Design and take full ownership of the gym's training methodology and programming across personal training, small-group training and classes.

* Build the class timetable and format mix, spanning strength, HIIT, conditioning and small-group personal training.

* Set clear standards for how clients are assessed, coached and progressed, from their first session onwards.

* Translate strength and conditioning and biomechanics principles into practical programming that delivers measurable client results.

Coaching Team Leadership + Development:

* Support the founders with recruiting the coaching team ahead of launch, ensuring every hire aligns with the brand's coaching standards.

* Build structured onboarding and education so every coach is confident and consistent from day one.

* Create clear frameworks for observing and assessing coaches, providing regular, constructive and actionable feedback.

* Deliver ongoing CPD and mentor coaches in their development, creating a culture of continuous learning.

Launch + Member Experience:

* Shape the training floor, equipment and studio requirements in line with the final site.

* Work closely with the General Manager to ensure the coaching experience matches the luxury standard of the facilities.

* Support personal training sales and retention by ensuring members see visible, sustained progress.

* Gather member feedback and use it to continually refine programming and delivery.

Hands-on Coaching:

* Lead by example, coaching personal training clients and leading classes on the weekly timetable.

* Cover sessions and classes when needed, setting the standard for the coaching team.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is an accomplished, properly credentialed coach who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and a genuine passion for client results.

They will see this as a serious leadership opportunity and be excited by the chance to build and own a training product within a start-up environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on coaching.on leadership, while embracing the opportunity to build something exceptional from the ground up.

The successful candidate will likely demonstrate:

* Significant experience as a Head Coach, Senior Coach or Master Trainer within a premium personal training or strength and conditioning environment.

* Strong credentials in strength and conditioning and biomechanics, such as a sports science degree, UKSCA accreditation or equivalent.

* A proven track record of designing programming that delivers results for real clients, not only athletes.

* Experience recruiting, educating, mentoring and assessing other coaches.

* The ability to explain technical concepts simply and confidently to clients and coaches alike.

* Experience within London's premium or luxury fitness market (desirable).

* Involvement in a gym or studio launch, or building a training concept from scratch (desirable).

* High personal standards and the leadership to bring others up to them.

* Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where plans evolve and you build as you go.

Above all, this role would suit someone who is obsessed with great coaching and wants to define what elite personal training looks like within a luxury environment.

WHY JOIN?

* Opportunity to join a luxury personal training brand at pre-launch stage.

* Full ownership of the training product, from programming to coaching standards.

* Build, educate and lead your own coaching team.

* Work alongside passionate founders and an experienced General Manager.

* A premium Central London environment where coaching quality is the priority.

This position would suit an exceptional coach and leader who is ready to shape a training concept from the ground up and see it through to launch and beyond.
