About the role
Job Description
We are looking for a Java Software Engineer to join a long-term development and maintenance project covering 7 business applications built in Java.
You will become part of a 5-person development team responsible for further development of the client’s applications, implementing new functionalities and improvements, as well as supporting the resolution of application-related issues when needed.
This role is a good fit for someone who feels comfortable working with existing enterprise applications while also actively contributing to their ongoing development.
Your responsibilities
* Developing and enhancing Java-based applications * Implementing new functionalities and improvements across the client’s application landscape * Designing and implementing REST APIs * Working with relational databases and optimizing SQL queries * Managing database schema changes using Liquibase * Supporting the investigation and resolution of support tickets when required * Working closely with other members of the 5-person development team * Contributing to the ongoing maintenance and technical development of the applications
Qualifications
Must-have skills
Java & Backend
* Very good knowledge of Java 17+ * Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Java backend development * Good knowledge of Spring Boot 3.x * Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs
Databases
* Experience working with relational databases, particularly: * Oracle Database * PostgreSQL * Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing queries * Experience managing database schema changes with Liquibase
Nice to have
Systems & tools
* Knowledge of Java EE / Jakarta EE * Basic knowledge of Linux * Familiarity with Bash * Experience working with Git * Basic knowledge of Apache Kafka * Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins * Knowledge of GlassFish 7
Business application frontend
* Knowledge of JSF * Experience with PrimeFaces
Additional Information
Fluency in Polish and English required.
Hybrid work model: 2 days from the office, 3 days of home office.
Office location: Warsaw, Poznań, Lublin, Katowice, Rzeszów or Łódź.
