Job description

Senior Commercial Construction Manager

Location: Miami, FL (with mandatory monthly travel to Laredo, TX for project oversight)

Position Type: Full-Time, Hands-On

About the Role

ARIVA Group is seeking an experienced, proactive Senior Commercial Construction Manager to lead our project operations out of the Miami office. This is a dynamic, hands-on role requiring a leader who is equally comfortable managing high-level strategy and diving into the day-to-day execution of commercial builds. The ideal candidate will take absolute ownership of the project lifecycle, driving quality, safety, and profitability from pre-construction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

* Project Management & Execution: Direct all phases of commercial construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to design specifications, budgets, and aggressive schedules. * Procurement & Purchasing: Spearhead all purchasing activities, including subcontracts, material procurement, equipment rentals, and supplier negotiations to secure optimal pricing and favorable terms. * Multi-Site Oversight & Travel: Coordinate and oversee operations remotely and on-site, including regular travel to Laredo, TX (approximately one week per month) to monitor job site progress, manage local subcontractors, and resolve site-specific issues. * Subcontractor & Vendor Management: Vet, hire, and manage trade partners, general contractors, and vendors; conduct regular performance reviews and enforce stringent quality control standards. * Budget & Financial Control: Manage project budgets, approve invoices, oversee change orders, track cost projections, and deliver accurate financial reporting to executive leadership. * Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety protocols across all active job sites. * Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and municipal authorities, leading regular progress meetings and maintaining transparent communication channels. * Quality Assurance & Safety: Implement rigorous quality assurance programs and champion a proactive safety culture to achieve zero-incident job sites.

Qualifications & Requirements

* Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in commercial construction management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering ground-up and interior fit-out commercial projects. * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (equivalent field experience will be considered). * Travel Flexibility: Ability and willingness to travel to Laredo, TX one week per month as a standard operational requirement. * Technical Proficiency: Mastery of construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid), scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6), and estimating/purchasing platforms. * Core Competencies: Exceptional negotiation skills, deep knowledge of procurement processes, strong mechanical/structural acumen, and the ability to troubleshoot complex field challenges independently.

What We Offer

* Competitive base salary commensurate with experience * Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits * 401(k) retirement plan with company match * Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays * Travel allowances and per diem for Laredo site visits * Opportunities for professional growth within a rapidly expanding portfolio
