About the role

About Motorway

Motorway is the UK's largest online car-selling platform. We connect private sellers directly with over 8,000 dealers nationwide. Our online platform helps sellers achieve great prices for their cars while giving dealers fast, reliable access to the stock they want for their dealerships. Founded in 2017, our award-winning, technology-led approach has redefined the experience of selling a car. Motorway is backed by some of the world’s leading technology investors, having raised £143 million in Series C funding.

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing scale-up at a crucial phase of growth and help change an industry for the better.

About the team & role

Our newest department, Motorway Enterprise, is bringing our proven marketplace model to the fleet and leasing sector - a 2-million-car market representing a quarter of all UK used vehicle sales. Launched in May 2026 with Mobilize Financial Services (Renault, Nissan, Dacia, and Alpine), our platform allows end-of-lease drivers to profile cars directly through our app and auction them to 8,000+ verified dealers. By removing physical storage and repeated transport, we cut weeks off traditional remarketing times and significantly lower costs.

As the department’s first dedicated commercial hire, you will build this business line from the ground up and shape a high-growth product inside an established scale-up. You will serve as the day-to-day contact for enterprise partners, running business reviews, tracking performance, and fully owning key relationships within six months. Acting as the operational bridge between external partners, our dealer network, and internal product, engineering, and ops teams, you will troubleshoot issues, write scalable runbooks, and collaborate with the commercial lead on pitches and new client onboarding.

What you’ll be doing:

What you’ll do:

* Drive commercial strategy: Identify growth opportunities across partner, dealer, and transport revenue streams, collaborating closely with partner Commercial Leads to optimise pricing and fee structures.

* Lead key partnerships: Serve as the trusted, day-to-day contact for Enterprise partners - leading monthly and quarterly business reviews backed by robust data and actionable insights.

* Optimise trading performance: Build and leverage real-time dashboards to proactively pinpoint and resolve friction in pricing, dealer engagement, and ready-for-sale conversion rates.

* Build scalable operations: Diagnose operational bottlenecks, partner with internal teams to implement lasting fixes, and author standard runbooks to automate workflows.

* Accelerate dealer demand: Work alongside dealer account managers and engage directly with top-tier buyers to analyse purchasing trends, build account plans, and scale transaction volumes.

* Champion the product: Establish yourself as the go-to subject matter expert on the Enterprise product, guiding internal teams and sharing critical domain knowledge across the business.

* Support business development: Power new partner pitches and commercial business cases with sharp data analysis and realistic operational blueprints.

About you

* Data fluent: You don’t just read dashboards and spreadsheets - you uncover the narrative within the numbers to drive clear business decisions.

* Hands-on with AI tools: You have practical experience building, maintaining, and deploying AI workflows, agents, or artifacts that are actively integrated into day-to-day operations.

* Strategic & execution-focused: Proven track record of translating analytical findings into structured action plans and delivering them to completion.

* Client-ready communicator: Comfortable representing Motorway in both written briefs and high-stakes client meetings, distilling complex ideas into clear, digestible messages for senior stakeholders.

* Commercially minded: A sharp understanding of how pricing levers, volume shifts, and operational costs drive unit economics and P&L outcomes, with an instinct for stakeholder priorities in negotiations.

* Relentless problem solver: A demonstrated history of taking full, end-to-end ownership of messy problems in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

* Fast, curious learner: Automotive experience isn't required - what matters is your appetite to dive in, master our ecosystem, and scale a new industry standard.

You could be a great fit if

* You’re an adaptable generalist who thrives when shifting gears across commercial, analytical, operational, and client-facing tasks in a single day.

* You quickly build credibility, communicate with poise, and foster high-trust relationships with executive stakeholders.

* You want genuine ownership in an early-stage department, taking as much satisfaction in designing the playbook as you do executing it.

* You’re allergic to repetitive manual tasks and actively seek ways to streamline routine workflows using modern automation and AI tooling.

* You prefer working with real-time data every single day to guide your decisions, rather than waiting for a monthly retrospective.

* You’re open-minded, receptive to feedback, and genuinely curious about the mechanics of how the automotive market moves.
