About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer Technician (MET) will be responsible for taking precision-machined components from engineering drawings or CAD models through CNC programming, machine setup, prove-out, first-article inspection, and final production release. This hands-on technical role combines CNC programming, manufacturing process development, machining, and production support.
Key Responsibilities:
* CNC Programming & Process Development: Create CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, develop machining strategies, convert engineering drawings and CAD models into production-ready programs, select appropriate tooling and machining processes, and optimize cycle times and production efficiency.
* Machine Setup & Prove-Out: Perform CNC machine setups, test and prove out new programs, run initial components, validate dimensions and tolerances, and ensure programs are ready for production.
* First-Article Inspection: Verify initial parts against engineering drawings and specifications, confirm dimensional accuracy, and support first-article approval.
* Troubleshooting & Optimization: Identify and resolve machining and programming issues, improve machining performance, reduce cycle times, and enhance manufacturing processes.
* Production Support: Provide technical guidance to machinists and production personnel, support engineering changes, resolve production challenges, and ensure smooth job releases into manufacturing.
* Quality & Process Validation: Ensure machining processes meet required tolerances, quality standards, and production specifications.
Requirements
1. Hands-on CNC programming experience.
2. Experience with CAD/CAM software and program development.
3. CNC machine setup and prove-out experience.
4. Experience conducting first-article inspections and dimensional validation.
5. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.
6. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
7. Experience supporting production teams and improving manufacturing processes.
